For those of you who have done both tours, which did you enjoy more, and why? I'm really torn between these two tours (I know they are very different experiences).

The KTKT appeals because of the backstage areas (we get excited about "behind the scenes" things, and I've always wanted to see the utilidors) and lower cost, but I've read the tour can get a bit long towards the end. On the other hand, seeing the animals up close would be a super cool unique opportunity, it takes less time but also costs more than double. While DD16 loves animals and (the safari is easily one of her favorite rides), she also loves behind the scenes stuff.

The only tour we've done was the Behind the Seeds Tour which we both enjoyed, but I did get a tad bored near the end.

Any and all opinions appreciated!

I have done both and really enjoyed both but for me the Wild African Trek was the winner. I would pay to do it again in a heartbeat. The best thing about KTTK tour was the personal Walt Disney history and the development and background of the park. The utilidors were great but you weren't there very long and stayed in certain areas.
The Wild Africa Trek was so interactive and a lot of fun.The best part of this tour was the up close interaction with the animals, the leisurely pace and an amazing lunch both food and location.
Which ever you choose will be great but as I said I'd do the Trek all over again.

Recommended attire includes shorts or pants and a comfortable shirt. Skirts or dresses are not recommended.

Why is this?

We have done both and we loved both. I would easily do both again.
But if I could only do one, I would choose the Wild Africa Tour. It was wonderful, a nice mix of walking and riding and a wonderful break on the savanaha to eat. It is great for taking pictures too.

Why is this?

I would imagine it is because about 1/2 of the tour is hiking on trails. Closed toe shoes are required.

Or because you're up on swinging bridges and could flash guests down below on the safari? :rotfl:

Thank you for the feedback! My gut instinct is leaning towards the Trek. I just have to make sure I can face my fears and handle that swinging bridge...

I've done both Liked KTTK LOVED Wild Africa Trek Don't be afraid of the " swinging " bridge you're safe and it is not swinging You are harnessed in so no worries I am vertically challenged ;) 5'4" the most difficult part was some of the slats in the bridge seemed very far apart It was fine I would do this tour when money allows in a heartbeat

Thanks, I wrongly assumed it swings. The fact it doesn't really helps calm my fears! I think I need to find a way to spend the extra money and book this tour! Wish they were offering $50 discounts like they did last year for our same dates.

Did anyone see zebras on their tour? Sadly, we missed the zebras on all 3 safari rides we did last October.

I've done both tours, and would do Wild Africa Trek again in a heartbeat - it was AMAZING!!!!

And for the record - I hate heights; I hate bridges; and I hate bridges that could "potentially" swing…but I did fine on this tour. I just made sure my daughter went across the bridge FIRST so that she couldn't get behind me and jump up and down on the bridge….! :rotfl2:

Done both and would do the Wild Africa Trek again in a second. I'm only 5'2" and afraid of heights and I managed the bridges without a problem. You are in a harness so you really can't fall.

The guides are great - give you so much background information about the program and the animals.

Ive done both and really enjoyed both for different reasons. I would lean towards the Wild Africa Trek though as i think it would be a great bonding experience for you and your DD. You have lunch overlooking a savannah and get to brave things together. The KTTK is more sedate and might be too long if the seeds tour was starting to get boring for you.

You cant make a wrong decision here though. Both tours are super fun and i highly recommend both!

Another great point. I know we sure bonded when we rode EE for the first time last year (both conquering our fear of it). Apparently, I screamed most of the ride, and she never lets me forget it! :lmao:

Let me push you with a memory I have of Wild Africa Trek Oh if only there was a way I could have a photo of this but it is forever ingrained in my mind We had the opportunity to look through a telescope on the Savannah I zeroed in on a lionesses face I could clearly see her eyelashes THAT I will never forget I get goosebumps just posting it

WOW!! :cloud9:
