Hmmm, that's a tough one. I find him overall cheesey, but he's so cute. I find his acting bad (well not bad, but....cheesey), but he's really funny. I just got Hitch today from blockbuster and I can't wait to watch it.

Now, as far as music goes, I do really like a lot of his popular songs. They're upbeat and not too "adult" so I can listen to him with the kids. Easy on the eyes, easy on the ears, so I can take him either way.

MIB is a staple in our house that we watch a lot. Hitch is on my Blockbuster que, so I'll have to wait for that one.

ds loves rap so Will's CD's with NO parental advisory are a big hit in our house! His newest is on the birthday gift wish list. I love that he records with his own children's listenability in mind!!! We also love his films and Fresh Prince reruns are always OK for watching.(even though the content is sometimes suggestive, it's usually over DS's head)

IMO, there is a difference when someone makes their fame by way of music and then moves into the acting field. Some find a niche with acting, and become successful, who would of thunk the Fresh Prince at 20 would be a box office super star at 37?

I want to also point out Ice T on law and Order. I think he plays a great cop. My sister disagree's.

It is laughable when the star is an ACTOR and then thinks they can sing. No matter how good they are at singing, they never really get accepted as a singer (Bruce Willis as an example). I think the sam would of been true of Will Smith. If he started out acting 1st, I don't think he would of been accepted as a singer.

Even Lisa Presley. She has been singing her whole life, she was just never ready to go public with it until she was older than your normal rock star. Who could blame her? Look at who she would of been compared to!!!!

If she was just some girl off the street, she would of been more welcomed in the music field, but because she was "just Elvis's daughter" all those years, people rolled their eyes. Not even considering she may have her daddy's talent.

Years ago, I remember him on a talk show. He was talking about his "clean" rap. He thanked his grandmother for it. She basically told him she wanted to listen to his music, so he better make sure he made music she would listen to. She also lectured him on how uneducated it makes a person seem when they use all those bad words...ect. He was pretty funny telling the story, but it always stuck with me that he stayed clean for his grandmother. Another plus mark in my book for him, a kid who had respect for other's opinions.

He sure is a cutie! As much as I dislike Rap, I always found his stuff entertaining. Oh, and the scene from Independence Day when he's dragging the alien along is one of the funniest bits ever on film.

I adore Will Smith on the stage with a Mic, or on the big screen fighting aliens (or anything else that he does!) or on the small screen with his own sicom. I just love him to death.

I totally agree with you on Ice T. I know some people probably won't be able to forgive him for some of his more controversial songs in the past (although 'High Rollers' is really a great song if you listen to the words!) but I think he does a great job on Law & Order. It's nice to see him PLAYING a cop as opposed to singing about being a 'Cop Killer!'

I likehis acting and his music. He's also very dreamy. How about when he and his wife left an awards show early because one of their kids was sick? He seems like such a nice guy.
