If im getting a Wii what else do I need to get with it and what would be the price range for that it all?

OUR COST:

Wii - $249
Wii Play with extra remote $50
Mario Galaxy $50
Thrillville -free with purchase of other two games at Toys-r-us.
Two extra remotes on ebay $60
Remote skins (for better grip) $10
Remote charging station with rechargeable batteries $25

GRAND TOTAL: $450 and that doesn't include tax

Tell me - am I CRAZY? But this is all we are getting the kids for Christmas this year.

Best bet, The basic system, a couple games (Wii play is a must!), and enough remotes for your family. You can always add on later.

Thanks, what is Wii Play and some people say that you should get some waranty?

I thought Wii Play was really boring. Instead of a $50 game with a free remote it felt more like a $50 remote with a free game.

Super Mario Galaxy is going to be a MUST HAVE. It comes out tomorrow. :D

Wii Play is another minigame collection like Wii Sports, which comes with the system, that has 9 little games in it.

Some stores will sell you an extra warranty. It already comes with one, and if you register it online you can get it extended. I'm not sure how long it is, though. I forgot.

OK THANKS. Where should I get it from?

Not worth it to get the extended warranty. You get 15 months total after you register. If anything happens in that time they will replace it. I actually had a store manager tell me NOT to get the warranty, even though he was supposed to push it.

If your trying to cut costs why bother with the "remote skins" and stuff like that? JMO

Super Mario Galaxy comes out tomorrow - you def. need to get that. And Nintendo offers free remote skins, but don't even bother. They're terrible; even though your Wii will likely come with one.

Get Wii Play. It has fun games and comes with an extra remote.
Take $5 to a participating video game store to reserve Super Smash Bros. for the Wii. It's coming out in February but with over a million copies sold for the GC, it's definitely going to be sold out fast.
----Remote skins are essential. After playing for a while your hands start to hurt and get clammy. The grip helps so you don't drop your remote. Many people have flung a remote while playing a sports game and along with the tie around your wrists, a skin also prevents that.

But if you're looking for like, a real game, Wii Play gets really old really fast, but it's fun to play with another person.

i have a wii and i love it. i have i think like 7 games not including wii sports since it came with the system. the system comes with:

1 wii remote
1 nunchuck
1 wii sports

extra remotes and nunchucks costs around $20. i would also recommend getting a wii points card and a classic controller. with the wii points you can download old school games from sega genisis, SNES, NES and N64. im 20 so i remember all these old school games but im sure most of you on here are in your early mid teens so these games might all be new to you. the classic controller and points card each cost $20 but they are well worth it. there are over i think 100 games you can download on the VC(virtual console). i downloaded sonic 3 and kirby's adventure. two amazing games. i highly suggest going to some game sites such as ign.com and gamespot.com. i live and die by those sites when it comes to buying games. like i said, i have about 7 games and i highly recommend them.

wii play(that got old very fast but its a blast with a few friends)
legend of zelda: twilight princess(im a huge zelda fan and this game was simply amazing.... i highly recomment it for anyone who likes adventure games)
super paper mario(the sequal to the thousand year door on gc)
resident evil 4(i do not recommend this for younger kids as its very very gory and quite scary at times. the game is rated M so, i doubt your parents would let you get this anyway)
guitar hero 3(the smash hit finally comes to the wii. the game is very expensive. its $90 casue it also comes with a guitar. its a very addicting game but it takes some time to get used to)
my sims(my sisters game. it looks stupid to me but i think the younger kids would like it)

those are all the games i have. and on tuesday i plan to get mario galaxies and resident evil: umbrella chronicles. again, i do no recomment RE for anyone undr like 17 due to the extreme gore nature of the game. its also quite scary at times. but i do highly recommend mario galaxies. its one of the most anticipated wii games that will ever come out. i reserved my copy like 3 months ago. also, i plan on getting soul calibur legends at the end of the month. and finally, on feb 10th.... ill be picking up my copy of super smash bros. brawl. thats MY most anticipated game for the wii. iv been tracking that game for a year or so now. i love the super smash series. my wii cost me about $250+twilight princess+wii play so, all together i think it came to $350 my inital purchase. m0ses the jew is the sn to ask anymore questions

your going to want guitar hero 3, smash bros brawl (when it comes out), and zelda twilight princess too.. those games rock

Eh. I think the remote skins are useless.
