I have a console, extra remote controller, and Zelda game on order and supposedly shipping this week.

So --- I guess I need to buy Nunchucks? One or Two because I'm confused about whether that Console Box includes one? I have two boys and they will want to box each other I'm sure, so I think we'll need two. We'll also probably be buying Madden 2007 and having massive Family Tournaments which is a Christmas day tradition around here.

I have several Memory Cards already.

Are there any other "must haves" that I should be ordering now?

Yes the box comes with an nunchuk inside, so I guess you will need only one.

A couple of standard control pads and a copy (when it's released) of Super Smash Brothers Brawl :teeth:

no, what I REALLY need now is a Wii Animal Crossing that will let me fish using the new remote controller.

Yea, yea, yea.....pour some salt in it....:lmao: I cannot wait to play Zelda.
So how is the sword fighting with it? Care to share?

I hear a march release for Mario's SSB?

Was told the game cube controllers would work fine for the "old school" games, including the above.

To the OP You may want to purchase the controller protective glove (has a wriststrap, a good idea IMO) as well as a memory card.

FYI, TRU has a good bundle w/2 gloves, memory card, console holder & mario game disk holder for the same price as their memory card $40.

Sword fighting you can do with either a button or swinging. You don't really control which way the sword goes, it does a horizontal slash. In combination with the thrusting of the nunchuk and buttons, you get other combos.

Shaking the nunchuk causes Link to go into a spin attack (easily my favorite)

The slingshot is really intuitive with the controller. The boomerang works the same as you "Paint" you target, and let it fly.

I just recently did some sumo wrestling (with the Gorons) and the nunchuk and the Wiimote actually work really well with it.

I went up against the first boss, and it is pretty memorable. And it took me an hour to an hour and a half to get through the dungeon.

This game will not dissapoint, trust me.

How cool...thanks for the info!!!!

As far as OP here...this is from the GottaDeal Wii thread and this is part of a post that explains what you need & how to do it...:thumbsup2

Just in case you haven't gone to the website yet, I will answer those questions to the best of my ability:

1. Does it come with memory to save games or do I need the SD card?
1a. It comes with 512 MB of memory to begin with. If you plan on buying a lot of the old Nintendo/Sega games to put on the system and/or you are going to have a lot of save files on the memory, I would definitely recommend getting an SD memory card. Since it seems that quite a few places are going to have good BF sales on the memory cards, I would say it wouldn't hurt to have one just in case.

2. How do I connect to the internet?
2a. If you have a wireless router, you should have no problem connecting to the internet, as the system comes with its own wireless card. Otherwise, you will either have to buy a USB to Ethernet adapter, which Nintendo has made, although I haven't seen any. What I have done, since I can't find one, is just buy a wireless router and connect the Wii to the internet that way. As of right now, though, you will be unable to access the Weather Channel, News Channel, or Internet Browser that comes with the Wii, as they have not finished developing them yet. You can find more information on dates on the Nintendo website.

3. Do you have to have the Classic Controller to play the old games?
3a. I have wondered this when they first announced the plans for the Virtual Console (which is what they call the old games). As far as I know, the Nintendo games can be played by moving the remote on it's side to simulate a Nintendo controller. Some of the Super Nintendo games can be played with the Remote, but other than that, you will either need the Classic Controller or a Gamecube controller to play the other ones.

On the virtual console download, it does tell you what type of control you need whether it be the classic controller, the Wiimote, or the Gamecube, or all three.
