Post your recommendations for Wii games to buy for Christmas this year! We enjoy playing but it seems we reach for the same games all the time. We are always playing:
Go Vacation
Wii Sports
Wii Party
Mario Kart
Sometimes, we play Toy Story Mania or the Mario Olympics or Wheel of Fortune. We have Disney Universe but I think it is hard and not my style.
We have but don't get into Sonic, Kirby, Puss in Boots, Barbie, etc. As you can see we enjoy the ones you can just pick up and play casually together rather than a licensed story-type game- those never have long term playability.
I'm looking into Chicken Riot and Mario Party 9. Any other recommendations?
As far as my recommendation to others, I think Go Vacation is incredible. I mentioned it last Christmas season but at that time, the prices were $70-80+. This season it is on Amazon in the $20 range so definitely worth it. It can be good to just play casually, yet it also has a lot of depth to explore if you want to take the time. It has 4 resorts and a Villa area (reminds me of WDW!) and tons of sport-like activities, but we also really like to just freely explore the resorts. There are treasure chests to find, missions to do, villas to remodel, and lots of hidden/non-advertised achievements (you may need to check internet forums to find out about them). My kids could spend hours exploring for the first several months we had it- they've now found all the chests and done many of the achievements but it is still fun.
