Wii Fit?

lunges..:faint:

i did them 2 days ago and can still hardly walk... but still getting up to walk in the AM... so that is probably contributing... gonna try them again tonight!:)

but still lovin' the Wii!!:cool1:

Wii Fit got some local news coverage... it was good to see it I keep thinking this is too fun to be a workout. But my arms and thighs are sore so it tells me I am working something...

Here is the link if anyone wants to watch it....

:thumbsup2

I did the lunges yesterday and this morning. My thighs are KILLING me! It is so painful to go down the stairs and get off the couch that I moan and my DH laughs at me each time I get up. Going down the stairs is less painful!
I am having some success so far so I will definitely be continuing. I try to do it for about 30-35 minutes each morning. I keep earning more exercises and games so I feel like I want to continue.

I have not dared to try the lunges yet! I think I will do the yoga pose that's a lunge for a while before I try it. I kind of hurt a muscle Wii bowling the other night. Yes, that's a lunge too.

I'll try the boxing on the Wii Sports. Thanks for the suggestion.

The lunges just about killed me and I have worked myself up to 60 minutes on the ellipitcal and can't even do a few minutes of Wii Fit lunges.

RE: lunges. I think the trick is to NOT over do the motion. Go as far as when you start to feel the pull/burn and then hold that spot. If you aren't use to doing them and go full out with them from the beginning...its gonna hurt.
-Just my 2 cents. After having knee surgery have to watch out for things like that.

I just got a Wii Fit AND My Fitness Coach last Sunday, and I can say so far I like the Fit MUCH better... My Fitness Coach really isn't interactive like the Fit, so it's not (to me) as much fun. It's like doing any workout DVD. I also have Active Life: Outdoor Challenge, and that is lots of fun as well, it involves a lot more running than the Fit, and also a lot of jumping. But, it's a great, "fun" way to get some exercise in. I have quite a bit of weight to lose, and I find that both the Fit and Outdoor Challenge motivate to get up and move. Two thumbs up for both games! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Are they really making a Fit 2? Seems like they would be concentrating on getting this one available for everyone that wants it! It's really hard to find.

Hi. I'm sorry. Didn't mean to make it sound like I knew they were already in the works for that...I just kind of assuming with the way all the others go. The popular ones usually get a second one, but we'll see!

I haven't been great at using the fit, I seem to mostly play the tennis.

I did just order the Fitness Coach. I read that you can use free weights and I enjoy that. I also have the Outdoor Challenge. My roomate broke it open a couple of days ago and tried it. It does look fun so I am going to add that in this week.

I got the Jillian Michaels game for Christmas. Like others have said it is frustrating (but I'm glad I'm not alone:rotfl: ). I had the same problem with the graphics not moving. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. I was sore the next day so it was a decent workout. It would just be nice if the graphics actually worked.

Wii Fit 2: It would be a great idea though. I'm sure they can think of more ways to use the Balance Board. OK, Outdoor Life is moving up on my Wish List.

We got ours on Tuesday of this week from GameStop. We checked on the weekend and they were out - but told us to give them a call as they get deliveries everyday. None on Monday - but they got 6 on Tuesday. We have 3 GameStop stores within 3 miles of each other - so it might be hit or miss. Costco had them before Christmas for $10 less than GS - but I checked and they hadn't gotten them back in and weren't sure if they would.

HTH

Yeah the workout is so great b/c you're fighting with the dang program to do something!!! :rotfl:

My kids had me rolling on the couch laughing after Christmas while they were doing the running on their Fit. Let me just say they both take after their dad and are very thin and active naturally. (as they get older they will appreciate this VERY Much). Well, my 10 yr old figured out if she stood in place and just did the arm motions, she could fool the fit into thinking she was actually running! It was hilarious. She would get to going so fast it would tell her to slow down, and about the same time her mii would trip and fall!

No you don't run on the BB. You have the controller in your pocket or your hand and it monitors you somehow...works for me. I injured my knee a few years ago and running is very difficult. With this, I can go my speed and not have cars passing  I can feel the difference and am loving it!

I know you are not supposed to wear shoes on the BB but I wear my tevas for a little extra support. Seems to work for me!

Why shouldn't you wear running shoes on the Balance Board? I always wear my shoes unless I'm doing yoga. My feet hurt if I don't.

Also, I have the Jillian Michaels game and have trouble with the controllers like others have described. I don't use it because it's too frustrating and is really ugly.

I do like My Fitness Coach A LOT! It allows you to do longer workouts without stopping though it's not as much fun as the Wii Fit Balance games.

This is annoying for me, since mine is on the way, but Amazon has a special today on Wii Ubisoft games. My Fitness Coach is included. It's buy one, get one free. Go to the Gold Box Deals page, it's right in the middle of the Best Deals.

ok, fellow wii fitters. My kids got their fit for Christmas. I registered then, on a full belly. Today I got back on it after 15 days, and it says I have lost 21 lbs. While i have been trying to loose this past week, I know I havn't lost that much. I exercised for 32 min. (fun!) and then did the body test again because I knew it wasn't right the first time and thought maybe it was the way I was standing or something. Well, the darn thing said I had lost another 5 lbs! Has anyone else noticed this? I have it on carpet, but we put the carpet adjuster things on it. I guess I will just have to start relying on my old trusty scales in the bathroom!:sad2:

We finally got a wii fit today!!!:cool1: Our Target just happened to ahve one so we quickly snatched it up. Apparently she had just put it on the shelf. Not more than 5 minutes after it was in our cart a famly came down he isle and commenetd that it was just there ;) Gotta move fast on that one.

Anyways, I did 2 30 minute stes this evening. It was an ok workout, ut I'm not feeling it like I do after finishing the Biggest Loser DVD. But I'll stick with this for a while as it's fun. Oh and I completely outscored my DH by a landslide in the ski jump competition!

i also lucked out at Target pre-christmas. I asked b/c there was none on the shelf but there was like 5 behind their counter.

i hadn't heard of the outdoor life one -- :thanks:

glad to hear the comments on jillian, i may wait a bit and see if it improves? do they ever have patches to download for games?

No clue how to fix this...maybe someone can help.

Give it some time as you work out more you open different reps and games. DF and I compete during the games.

No havent done any patches or downloads for games yet...will have to check into that...

**REMEMBER YOU CAN LOG YOUR FIT CREDITS IN YOUR ACTIVITY LOG.**
The past 2 days I have been at bridal shows walking around for a couple of hours...it's normal activity-but it counts as something! So, don't forget to log those!

AND
If you do your body test everyday, but skip a day of working out...Your little BB on the screen won't yell at you!

I just completed 35 min. on the fit, and figured out what the problem was yesterday when it thought i had lost so much weight. While I was working out today, I looked over beside the TV and saw the little leg things which adjust it for carpet. I suppose one of the kids took them off! No wonder it was so much less! When I retook the test today, it thought I was holding weights! Unfortunately not.:rotfl:

I finally started using the WiiFit that I bought before Christmas! It is so much fun!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: I sure had trouble figuring out how to set it up, though!

I also bought a dance pad and program at Game Stop the other day. I bet that will be fun, too!

I did REALLY bad at the soccer game!!!! I got hit with more shoes than soccer balls! Also, I missed all the slalom gates in the skiiing!!!!!

I was GREAT at hula hoop thought!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
