Hi Everyone!
I was wondering if anyone has used Wii Fit to help strengthen and tone as well as for the aerobic work out. I just got one and it seems to work-I can feel it where I am supposed to. I was wondering if anyone had any success.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I haven't personally - but at my local Weight Watchers meeting I did meet a woman who has been very successful with it. She has lost over 40 pounds with it over the last 9 months - so it works for her! Sorry about the lack of personal connection but I did want to be encouraging!

I'm glad you heard something positive. I am having so much fun with it I just wanted to hear that something so much fun might actually work! :rotfl:
Thanks for the encouragement.

Not sure if it actually helps with the weight loss, but i have one and it definitely gives you a great cardio workout if you really push it. After 10 minutes with that hula-hoop you will feel it the next day!;)

It's been about 3 months since my last work out :sad1: School and internship kind of took priority. hula hooping for 4 minutes right now pushes me! I'm building and it lets me do that. I flip flop my yoga and strength training every other day so that I don't get too bored with it. I'm loving it and DF is also doing it so we have some great fun trying to beat each others scores! :rotfl:

I have not tried it yet. I'm looking forward to getting started and hope it helps to keep things moving.

It's on my wish list for Christmas. I used to do Dance Dance Revolution for PlayStation and found it burned lots of calories. I'm hoping it's kind of the same. :cheer2:

Hi Everyone!
I've been using the Wii Fit for a week and I love it! I haven't seen any weight loss with it...but I haven't been watching what I eat to strictly with the holidays coming up I don't want to do a ton of work only to have it killed in 24 hours! I work out everyday...and it "yells" at you if you miss a day...or at least makes you feel guilty :rotfl: DF and I compete against each other for the better rank. Somethings I am better at...other things I'm still trying to master!
You can add activities that you have done outside of the wii fit and it will calculate your fit points. As you collect points and time it gives you new exercises to do...its really neat and I'm glad DF got it more me. We're loving it and the best part is that we are loving it together. Even if we aren't working out at the same time we are still competing...it helps to have a work out buddy!!!

I'll do my best to post my progress and let you all know how this is working-especially since there isn't a ton on here about it. So far it has definately been worth it!
I'm sure I will see more progress after Xmas...Gotta get ready for our Cruise and wedding!

The best thing, I think, about the wii fit is that it can keep you very accountable if you do the body test every day, which is great through the holidays.

There is a new game out called "Jillian Michael's Fitness Ultimatum" that also uses the Wii balance board...

I have a bodybugg and find that I burn WAY more calories with the Fitness Ultimatum game, as you can set up an exercise sequence and do them back to back, where Wii Fit pushes you back to the main menu after each minigame.

Fitness Ultimatum has a rowing game, where you sit on the balance board, and hold the wiimote and nunchuck in your hands and stroke from side to side, that REALLY REALLY works.

Anywho, that's just my experience.

Thanks for posting this...DF and I looked at that game and it didn't get great reviews. I'm going to trump DF on this one and get it! Especially if it has a rowing game on it. DF wants a rowing machine-but who knows where we will put it b/c we don't have room in our apt...The Wii Fit stashes well under the coffee table...a rowing machine...Not so much.

Now, just a quick question, does it work in conjunction with the Wii Fit or do you have to add the activity to your fit log?

Thanks again!

i love Wii Fit!! :lovestruc Its been working pretty well for me. For the BMI it said I was overweight when i started, and now i dropped down to normal! :woohoo: I was pretty happy when i saw that the other day! I hope it works for you too!

Sounds like you are doing a great job! :thumbsup2

We are all LOVING the Wii and Wii Fit at our house! I did 25 minutes today plus some bowling. I have done the yoga, balance games and aerobics. I plan to do the strength ones once I can do it with no one around to disturb me. I have already noticed improvement in my posture. The Super Hula Hoop is really intense. I did over 700 rotations the first time I did it. I also like the 1 person run. Tomorrow I plan on doing the 2 person run with my daughter. The balance bubble is really hard. I'm really close to finishing it. The ski jump and slalom are also fun. Not very good at the soccer heading. The 20 minutes that I try to do each day goes by really fast and I feel good after it. I do have to say I have a bad cold so I should take it easy but it is just so much fun. DH is also doing it everyday. We hope to get into shape before our next Disney vacation in APril.

One thing we noticed after moving it to a different room with different carpeting: It said I had lost 16 lbs. Put the extra legs which then said I had gained 9 so it's a bit confused right now. I will have to do another body test tomorrow to see what it says.

I've had mine for a while and really enjoy it *when I use it*. So I can't say it has helped me lose weight because I haven't been consistant enough with it and I haven't been consistant about watching what I eat. :rolleyes1 We just got back from WDW a week ago and I haven't carved out any time for it yet but I plan on using it tomorrow. We also got a PS3 for Christmas, and right now that has been taking priority (it's hooked up to the same tv of course). I was just getting pretty consistant about using it before our trip (which was almost 3 weeks long) and I did feel it was helping my core strength, posture, and balance a lot. I have really been missing it.

I've read that carpet thickness can really distort the weight measurement. We have hard floors with an unpadded area rug so it seems to measure pretty accurately. If you're using it on a thick carpet with thick padding under it, then you might try moving it to a hard surface if you have one nearby where the signal will still "reach". Another thing I also do is when I weigh myself on it, I try to always wear light weight clothing so there isn't much difference in clothing weight.

Mine is all over the place. I don't weigh myself at the same time every day...Oh well...but I can feel the improvement in doing things..Somethings are easier...others more difficult...I'm building slowly! :thumbsup2 Up to 30 minutes a day. Mostly working on adding strength reps...baby steps! But its soo much fun!

I love my wii fit! I went back and deleted my data and started over with the new year! My goal is to lose 40 lbs before our July trip! Since the first of the year, I have really been watching what I eat and the types of foods that I purchase at the grocery store. So far, I have lost 3.7 lbs, that leaves just 36.3 to go. I will update my weight loss each week. I am also considering purchasing the Jillian Michael's Fitness Ultimatum. Has anyone else used this game besides the previous mentioned?

:cheer2: YEAH!

I started using my wii fit middle of December. Since the beginning of the year have been much more serious about eating right-that will only go bust when I go on DCL in Feb-but it will be more than worth it!
I have Jillian Mickael's Fitness Ultimatum but I'm not sure how it works. Some of the workout stuff I can't figure out. (I have no clue how to do the tire run) Which kind of makes me mad...but the kayaking portion will give you a work out!

I have been lurking around on the WISH boards - just reading and getting motivated!

Today, before even reading this thread, I was at GameStop picking up my very own WiiFit! I can't wait to get started! Thanks for the comments - at least I'll have a little idea of where to start (thanks for the tip about the carpet - I certainly wouldn't want it to read that I weigh more than I do!! :scared1: )

I've lost 30 pounds in the last year - have been trying - but the scale has barely been moving - although at my December check-up with my Dr. she checked my chart from last December - and low and behold - we were BOTH surprised! So, now with that behind me (or not behind me anymore!!!) I'm going to keep it going!

I appreciate you guys posting your stories!

:cheer2: I love the Wii fit and you will too! The little board guy keeps you movtivated...or at least you work out so that he doesn't get snotty with you LOL

Hi to the OP. I got the Wii Fit for Christmas and I really like it. The pros for me are this:
It's just fun and something different. It gives you a big variety of things to do..some days I just feel like doing the yoga, others I want to do all the aerobics and some days I mix it up.
The cons for me on it are this:
I don't like that you can't set it to keep going..after you finish something you have to go through all the clicking to go to something else . I like to keep moving so a lot of times, I'll do the adv. step and then keep clicking retry at the end. I also add things during the time off of the board where there are pauses.
I don't like the running on the Wii Fit. I don't like to run in place and it keeps getting on to me for running too fast and my mii has even fallen b/c she was running too fast. ha.
So far, really my favs on it are the hula hoop...that is really a good workout esp. the longer version with the advanced. , the jack knife, sev. yoga poses, push-up/side planks, other strength ones, and for the balance, i love the ski events.

I purchased Outdoor Challenge recently and we are having fun with it now and with it, you can do a 5 minute hard exercise challenges that are really good. And I'm guessing the more you do them, the longer/harder items will be unlocked.

(I'm watching Ellen right now and she is hula hooping with Torisa Tomei (haha)...sorry, I thought that was funny. I've heard it's becoming big in fitness classes.

Anyway, hope this helps some.
My weight has dropped and my BMI but I'm not going to get too excited and post anything yet. Maybe the end of the week.
