I am getting a Wii Fit today...and I am just wondering...

How do you guys on Weight Watchers calculate points for the activities you do with the Wii Fit?

Mary: I also just purchased a Wii Fit this past Sunday. They are so popular and are discussed frequently at my WW meetings and on the WW boards that my guess is that WW will eventually get on board (no pun intended) and assign activity point values for various Wii Fit activities. For now, if I do any of the Wii Fit aerobics I simply count activity points as I would any other aerobic activity. For the yoga, strength training, and balance activities I usually consider them low intensity and give myself one point for each 30 minutes. If I really work up a sweat during one of those activities I change the intensity level to moderate or high and get an extra point. However, I've noticed that eTools (which is where I track all of my food and activity points) doesn't seem to care much what you type in as the activity. It is more interested in the length of time of the activity and the intensity. I tried typing in nonsensical terms in the "activity" box and as long as I assigned it a time period and an intensity level it spit out a points value.

How are you liking the Wii Fit so far? I think it is a great supplement to my regular workouts and my nieces and nephews are having a great time trying to beat all my best times. It's fun showing them what they're "old" aunt can still do! ;) :yay:

I love my Wii Fit!!!!!!

I still go to the gym and walk outside (training for the half marathon for Jan 2010!)...but on days that I don't have time to do anything or it is too cold or pouring outside, I can still do aerobics and such with the Wii Fit.

I lost 5 pounds my first week with the Wii Fit! I was doing other stuff, too...and had a good food week, etc. But I have no doubt that the consistent working out with the Wii Fit helped me attain that goal, too!

I love the games and am just now getting them all unlocked. I don't like running in place, but I do just the arms sometimes and get a good upper body workout that way.

I basically count my "high" intensity stuff as 1 point for every 10 clocked minutes and the low stuff as 1 point for every 30.

Now if I can just sell my crummy dreadmill! :)
