After reading on here how much everyone loves the WiiFit we bought one yesterday. We started last night. It is definitely fun. It really is a lot harder than you would think. I really need to lose around 30 to 40 pounds. Dbf wants to lose some weight too. We have a weight machine, the kind that has weights and pulleys on it, and a recumbant bike. I thought I would love the bike but it turns out it is boring and I just can't sit there and do it. The weight machine I am just inconsistent with and I know I need to do more than tone. So my question is: for those of you losing weight with the fit, how long do you exercise for? and how often do you do it? and if you feel like sharing, how much have you lost in what time frame? Thanks!

You want to get to at least 30 min a day, by keeping your heart up for that long you will get the most benefit. I do it every day except Sunday but vary my workouts. Once you learn the exercises you can pick and chhose you favorites to work on. I do not do the body test everyday jus Mon and Fri.

Here is a link to an online guide that is helpful:

And above all have a goog time and don't forget to diet.

I am still new to Wii Fit. I am using it in addition to walking regularly and eating right. I have lost a total of 13.5 pounds.

I, too, agree that the Wii Fit seems to work muscles that I don't normally work when I am walking or even in the gym.

I normally do about 20-40 clocked minutes per day. I always do some balance games, strength and occasionally yoga. I do aerobics when I have a longer amount of time to use the Wii Fit.

I like the "game" where you do "free step" because I can set that and watch TV and do the stepping. Helps pass the time. :) But it took me a week to unlock that one.

I love the Wii Fit and am glad that I bought it!

I've had the Wii Fit for about a month now and I try to do something on it at least every other day. I find I do more aerobics than anything.

I work in a bank so I get very little exercise otherwise and here in Northern New England, it's hard to get outside in the winter, unless you're one of those folks who don't mind cold weather. Me? I'm not much of a snow lover and I hate being cold!

I use my Wii Fit in addition to cardio for weight maintenance. I go to the gym three days a week and ride the recumbant bike (I always bring a good book with me as it passes the time) and then I like to do 2-3 days (ideally) of Wii Fit. I like to do a minimum of 30 minutes, but much prefer 45-50 minutes; however, some of that time is yoga.

I find that I use the WiiFit as an added thing to do rather than as a primary exsercise. I really enjoy the different movement I get to do with it and hope that you can find success. I'd say from my understanding that you'd best benefit if you can go for about an hour. That said, I also think anything is better than nothing!

I try to do at least 30 minutes a day on the Wii fit. I do Advanced Step (5 min), Super Hula Hoop (10 minutes), and then various balance games or some strength training or yoga til I reach 30 minutes total. I'm going to start trying to add an additional 30 minutes a day of free step while watching TV. I've lost about 12 pounds since Christmas, but that included a week at Disney and I had some trouble getting back into the exercise routine when we got home!

Thanks! I started about a week and a half ago. I have lost about 3 pounds so far. But I got sick this week and haven't been on at all. I keep hoping that tomorrow when I get back on I won't have gained it all back.

I am doing the Wii Fit in conjunction with my elliptical. I have cut back on the Fit right now and working on the elliptical more. I like to weight myself on the Wii Fit. I have gone from obese to overweight having lost 15 pounds so far. I love to do the aerobics especially the step and free step. I do like the run too. I try to do some yoga and strength exercises too. I plan on doing it for at least 30 minutes tomorrow after doing my elliptical though it may not be until night. I also have the My Fitness Coach which I plan on using again this weekend and trying some pilates.
I hope to lose 15 more pounds before our April trip and then lose more after that.
