Wii fit and Wii Cardio

We are getting the kids a Wii for Christmas and was wondering if the Wii fit or Wii cardio is any good? Have any of you lost weight doing the programs? It will still be more exercise than I am doing now but was wondering if it was worth the money. Thanks
