We are getting our son a Wii for Christmas. Would it be a waste of money to get the 15-n-1 players kit? Can these items be used on many different games? I'm not sure if I need to purchase extra items for the games he is interested in. Suggestions???

I am not sure what this kit contains, but I know there are lots of stuff available that is not really needed. I would buy a basic console package with 1-3 extra controllers. Than a few games of your choice.

I think it's a waste of money. Most games come with whatever you need to play it right out of the box without adding on a thing.

On the other hand, I would consider buying extra controllers and the nunchuks if your son has friends who will be playing. This way at least two people can play at the same time, and only one controller comes with the Wii itself. After that, you can figure out what accessories you want on a game by game basis!

Have fun! It's a blast!

Does the numchuks come with the console? What is it used for?

Also, how much can you buy the balance board for? He wants to Shaun White Snowboarding game - I guess you want the balance board for the special effects??

You get one controller and one nunchuck with the console. If you buy the Wii Play for the extra controller, it doesn not come with a nunchuck (Wii Play is a $50 game that comes with a controller. A lot of people buy it because a controller alone costs $40, so you are basically getting the game for $10).

We are a family of 4 (kids ages 7 and 9) and we started out with 2 controllers last Christmas and two nunchucks. Within about 6 months, we bought 2 more controllers (but did not buy 2 more nunchucks), that way we could all four play, or when the kids have friends over more than two can play. We are very glad we bought the two extra controllers.

We do have one wheel to use for MarioKart, but it is just as easy to not use the wheel.

Other than that, we don't have any of the extra "stuff" for the Wii, and I really don't think we need it (unless, you are talking about the board, which you may have to have to play certain games.)

We love our Wii!!

We love our Wii, play it all the time. We are a family of 5 with 4 controllers and nunchukas. That is all the extra needed.

I don't know much about the game but is the numchuk a type of controller?
