Wii EA Sports Active vs. Wii Fit

Anyone have both and can compare the two?

I have Wii Fit and I'm not a big fan. I think its fun, but I do not think it is a good workout.

Does anyone agree about the Wii Fit and think the Sports Active is a better workout?

Also, Sports Active is $39.99 at Amazon right now. Anyone see any BF deals or cheaper anywhere else?

Yes, we have both.

I was never a big fan of the Wii Fit. To me it is just a bunch of mini sports-like games to play - it doesn't really give you a workout.

I purchased the Wii Active this Fall and it is much different than the Fit. It takes you through a circuit training workout. So you will warm up with a walk/run then move into lunges, do some resistance training with the band, and so on. The only thing that I don't like about it is that on some exersices it moves pretty slow and can be finnicky about hand/control placement.

Active will make you sweat and kick your butt! but I get frustrated when it says "let's try that again" because it does read the signal from the leg band for lunges

Thank you both! So, would you recommend buying Active? I'm looking for something I might want to do on those snowy, cold days when I don't want to go to the gym.

Is $39.99 a good price?

I'd go for Wii Active! I have Wii Fit and in a nutshell--I hate it. Can't get a good workout at all. And for $39.99 I'd definitely go for it!

I wanted to get Wii Active but DD10 wanted Your Shape after she saw a demo of it when we were watching the the E3 convention on TV.

Wii Fit is a joke compared to Active. I have lost 35 lbs since January by changing my diet and using Active. The 30 day challenge really keeps you motivated and gives you a heart pounding, sweat pouring workout. It is not without its faults (you will need to buy a better resistance band), however, is a wonderful workout.

Is Wii Active a game for the regular system?

$40 is a good price - I paid $55 for it earlier this year. Think of it as one month of membership dues to a gym!

Wii Active is a regular game for the Wii. You do need a nunchuck to play it and the Wii Fit Board is optional, definitely not required.
