WiFi in rooms if I bring my router

Nope just plug your router in to the Ethernet connection and it will work right out of the box. The buildings switch will assign your router an IP address then your router will assign your computer/phone/pad a IP address. No need to set it up as anything. Just plug it in and you are good to go.

Sorry, but this is incorrect. It may work, but it will be very sporadic, you will get dropped packets, slow speed, and periodic loss of network. You will have 2 routers trying to assign traffic to the outside web. the Disney router / switch will do this. The Op just needs to tell his router to not act like a router, and act like a switch. Just plugging in another wireless router will confuse the traffic. that is what consumer routers have the capabillity to change how the device works.

OP Again, go to your routers support site. Learn how to Turn off dhcp (this is what assigns the ip address to your machine, Disney network hardware will handle this) Learn how to make your router act as a network access point. (this allows you to use the disney network over wifi, and still allow the disney hardware to do it's job)

The answer is, it depends. Just to be clear, I have not personally used Disney's Internet service. I am a frequent traveler and work in the wireless telecommunications sector.

First, I am guessing the acceptable use policy prohibts sharing the internet connection. Since I have not personally read the Disney Internet Acceptable Use Policty (AUP), I can't comment. If someone captures this, please post it.

Second, public/hospitality internet providers uses a variety of methods for user authentication. Many use the computer's web browser to authentic. At a minimum, you usually need to accept the terms of use (AUP). You may also need to enter a code, name, room number or credit card information. If this is the case, you will need to do this first on a laptop/computer. I am not aware of any smartphones with ethernet ports. For the sake of argument, let's assume you have a laptop. You log in first with your computer. You now want to connect your WiFi router. A common method of "tracking" users by hospital internet providers is the computers Ethernet MAC address. You would then need to clone the MAC address from your computer into the router. Many routers have this feature. Depending on how long the Internet provider "leases" you an IP address, you may need to repeat this process during your stay. Of course, if you have problems, you are on your own. Nobody at Disney or the ISP is going to help you configure this.

Can all this be done? Absolutely. Is the juice worth the squeeze? That is a personal question. For my family to go to WDW it costs about $500 per day. That is over $20 per hour. If you spend just two hours configuring your set up on your stay, that is $40. Plus, it is $10 per day for hotel internet. For a typical week stay, you are into it for over a $100. I would rather spend the money on roaming. I am not willing to spend the effort in configuring and troubleshooting this type of set up in order to save a few bucks.

Good luck!
