Can anyone report on how reliable the Internet connection is at POR? And how speedy it is? I'm going to be in the middle of a online class while we are there and will need to log on several nights to do some homework. Just curious if this is going to be an issue.

All resorts have wifi now. During times of heavy usage it can be iffy.

I can only comment on fq. Signal varied on location. Some rooms had stronger connections. I would think worse case you'd have to hit the lobby or restaurant c

I had great WiFi in POR last November. Probably better than I had in any of the parks :-)

Thanks everyone! The last thing I want to do on a Disney vacation is homework, but such is life. It's this, or waiting until September 2014, and I don't want to wait that long :)

All the resorts have WiFi. The strength and reliability of it will vary widely depending on where you are, the time of day and apparently the phase of the moon. That last part was a joke but there is often no apparent rhyme nor reason to these things.

It may depend on just where you are within POR... I had terrible strength in an Alligator Bayou room this summer; couldn't use Wifi on my phone at all in the room. It was pretty good in a Magnolia Bend room on another trip, though, And I had no problem in public areas of the resort.

We were there the end of May and my son had his IPad and didn't have any issues. We were in Magnolia Bend 8778

Hi! We've stayed at POR many times in the past 2 years - usually Alligator Bayou preferred, April 2013 in Royal River room.

No problem with wifi in the morning. But, always was slow in the evening, or if it was day during a long stretch of rain (for example, can't watch youtube at all - just can't load video (but can in the morning)). Never had a problem - even in the evening - reading email or loading text only pages.

Always stronger reception at the food court.

Hope that helps.

The way I see it is that homework in Disney is a lot more magical than homework at home :wizard:
