Quick Wifi question.....is the Wifi at the outposts and reception area free? I have an online class that I will have to be online for while we are there in October:mad:. Also, how easy to use is the service you pay for at your site. Considering just getting it for 24 hours for my class. Thanks!

Disney charges $9.95/24 hours for internet service at FW - either WiFi at those locations or at your site.

Also, you have to do some preparing ahead of time to get it at your site.

You need to go to the front desk and check out a cable modem. Your card will be charged a dollar amount (I think $175), then you hook it up according to the instructions and then log on and get your internet for 24 hours for $9.95.

Then when you return the box, you will get your $175 credited back to your card.

The only thing I might add to Carol's post is that if you are there during a busy time, be sure to go ahead and get your kit at check-in because there are a limited number of these. Also, the connection we have had on the past two trips this year has been terrible. We even got a refund for one day and was not charged for the next. This is an issue for us also because we don't have an air card and never seem to be there when Jen is(she 'shares' her connection.) :goodvibes

We just pay for the service on the days we spend more time at the campground and when we use it, it reminds us of the good old days of dial up!:thumbsup2

The deposit for the modem is 125.00. I just had to call them and asked for mine back so be careful and check your statement.

We had it for about 2 weeks. the set up was easy and it was always fast.

make sure your credit appears in the credit column. I had one CM insist it was being credited but it never showed up in the credit column and i did not receive credit. I made sure it appeared there this time.

I agree with PP on the connection; this past trip it was horrible. I had to get two days refunded since it would only allow me to connect once at outpost and once at meadows. the modem at our site never worked and we had two of them. I have a brand new laptop, so not sure what the problem was. Disney said it was probably them, lots of complaints coming in. I still say someone that has to go to the outpost (because of their faulty modems) should not have to pay the same price as someone getting it at their site.
while i was waiting in line, there were two others there with the same problem.

ain't nuthin free at dusney.... mc donalds, starbucks, and other places have it free, not sure if the mcdonalds by zoo park has it free.
