Long as the bills are paid, each person is a grown adult and deserves to spend their money how they wish. preferably with the others blessings.

Actually it all went down because I was sitting in my truck, the snow was flying, and I thought to myself "honestly, what's a few thousand dollars so I can get away from this?" I immediately got my celphone out and called. Waiting to hear back.

Just got a call from my broker and the offer has been submitted to the owner. Now I just have to see if they'll accept it as I offered $5 less per point than they were asking. Probably not a big deal, but we'll see what happens. I'm happy!!

Hmmm... You are walking into murky territory. Asking forgiveness is not the same as getting it. Only you know your situation and only you can answer your question, but as one who has been married 34 years... I suggest you weigh the risk with what is at risk. It is kind of like wearing a seat belt... you don't do it because you think you're going to be in an accident, you do it because what is at risk can't be replaced or is too valuable to jeopardize.

Go to a local thrift store and pick up the oldest, ugliest fake fur coat you can find. On Christmas morning, give it to her and tell her that you got her a $20,000 fur coat made out of Labradoodle. After she's appalled at the price and gift, tell her you were just kidding and that you got her a 50 point DVC add-on instead. It'll be so much cheaper and better that she'll be thrilled.

From the responses in this thread it seems like all women would be overjoyed with a DVC add-on. However, in our household I'm the Disney nut and not so much my wife. She's coming around to it, but it's taken 7 trips over the last 5 years or so to get her to enjoy it. So in regards to the add-on I'll be the one who's super excited if it goes through.
