Wife is Pregnant which rides to do, or not do?

My wife and I just found out that she is Pregnant, she is 7 weeks into it right now. our Trip is in the middle of February, which rides do you suggest for or against on our trip? ( I do know some that wouldn't be a good idea), but I'd like some information from those that have been in our position, or have a better idea about what to ride and what not to ride. We will be going to all four parks. Thanks

I went to MK when I was about 7 mos pregnant. The only things that I did not go on where the rollercoster type. Like space mountain. Rides like Peter Pan, Snow White, Small World etc.... are all fine in my mind but it really is up to you and how safe you feel. If I remember the rides do have sighns infront telling you if it is recomended for moms to be. Congrats and good luck.

The Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World will list each and every ride, its height restrictions and if applicable that a pregnant woman should not ride. You can check that out at the library or buy it for under $15. There is more to do at WDW than one might think! Avoid the "mountains", Mission Space, Rock n Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, Dinosaur (very bumpy) and I am sure there are others, but thats all I can think of off hand. For that matter, Disneyworld.com may list on their website if pregnant women should avoid certain attractions. Congratulations, before you know it you will be taking this baby to Disneyworld for their first trip! You might also want to post this on the Disney for Families board.

Besides the above I'd avoid the Safari Ride in AK. Rode it last week and it's really bumpy.

Thanks for the information...thing that makes me worried, is I hear Soarin (which we've never been on ), has a warning for Prengant women, and wife and I so want to ride this.

Actually, I don't think Soarin does. I have seen many women at both DCA and Epcot who are pregnant and ride. I even saw a couple of cm's kid a very pregnant woman that they didn't know how to deliver a baby, so hold off! I am a very cautious person and I would ride Soarin if I was pregnant. It goes up kind of high but is mostly stationary and you are very secure. It is a totally smooth ride and wonderful so don't miss it! It does have a height requirement, 40" I think (don't know if you have little ones travelling with you or not).

My daughter just found out she is pregnant, too! She is leaving on Dec 18 and she is just 5 weeks pregnant. She went to the doctor today and he advised to avoid any "bumpy" or rides with plunges such as Splash, Thunder and Space Mountains, Mission, roller coasters, etc. He said it would probably be ok but to avoid the "possible" risks. In other words, better to be safe. She can ride the others on another trip.

The only way Soarin would be a problem for her is if she has morning sickness and is afraid of heights, but I can't imagine it being unsafe. Maybe just a little uncomfortable.

Oh, and the stampede to get to the Soarin line might not be safe for a pregnant woman! Maybe have her wait while you make the mad dash for fastpasses !!!!!

No others traveling with us.....this is our first.

So now I have to decide on what rides I go on solo.......this will be a tough trip but very interesting!

I rode the safari pregnant (though I wasn't as far along) but told the CM that I needed the front row. We only had to wait for the next truck and they let us have the front. It is much less bumpy. If you have ridden it before, use your judgement.
Babies are pretty safe, but there is always the chance someone will have problems after and Disney cannot take that risk.
Soarin was extremely gentle.

My sister was 4-months pregnant on a family trip last year. She didn't ride any of the roller coasters, Mission Space, Dinosaur, and ToT.

She did ride the Safari and Maelstrorm without a problem. She rode just about everything else as well!!

A warning about the Safari ride though - the bumps didn't bother my sister, but my mom was in extreme pain. She has a bit of joint pain and the bouncing really hurt. It is something to keep in mind - you can't control what type of safari driver you get. Some CMs hit more bumps in the roads than others. If your wife is sensitive to it, I would take the suggestion above and ride up front or skip this ride.

On our last trip, there was a pg woman and her dh in line in front of us for the safari. The cm at the entrance told her to tell the CM at the ride for a front row seat because it is less bumpy. When they got to the front of the line and she told the CM, he wouldn't do it. He had them sit in the middle rows. Personally, I wouldn't have rode the ride sitting there...it is way too bumpy for a pg woman.

I've been to WDW pregnant twice. I avoided all of the roller coaster type rides,TOT, Dinosaur, Safari, Kali River Rapids. Some of them may have fine, but I didn't see a reason to chance it. We go so often I knew I'd have another opportunity soon enough. DH and I are used to riding alone since we have little kids, so that was fine with him.

We went to WDW in April when I was 9 weeks pregnant. These are the rides that I avoided.

MK - Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm, AstroOrbiter, Space Mountain.

Epcot - Test Track & Mission Space.

Studio's - Rock n Rollarcoaster, Tower of Terror and Star Tours.

AK - Kilimanjaro Safari's, Kali River Rapids, Primeval Whirl, Triceratop Spin and Dinosaur.

I didn't chance anything, there are always other trips
