Wierdest name you've ever heard

Not an odd name, but I funny story I wanted to share:

On my dad's side, nearly all of the women have either Mary, Katharine (with a variety of spellings) or Louise as their first or middle name (I am Katharine Claire). Louise is from my great-grandma.

A few years after she passed, my aunt was doing some research on great-grandma's life. She came to the Midwest on an orphan train from NY state (she was an older child, 14 or 15) and so my aunt poured over the records, looking for more information. No wonder she had such a hard time finding her - turns out, Great-Grandma wanted a fresh start with a new name when she came to the Midwest. So for years, women in my family have been named Louise and come to find out, her given name was Jeanne. :goodvibes

my coworker has a second job and works with someone named Dollar Bill (all first name). And he works at a bank!

I went to high school with Heaven Lee

My youngest niece has a Jujube (like the candy) and a Bunny in her class

Syphyllis (but pronounce Suh-fillis). Seriously. The parents saw it in the dictionary and thought it sounded pretty. Evidently didn't read the definition. It became a running joke in our family after we found out it - about her future sister Gonorrhea and how neither of them could get dates to the prom...

How about:

Blanket
Apple
etc.

by the time my great, great, great grandparents had their 12th child they had run out of family or biblical names that they liked so the resorted to pulling out one of the only books they owned to use as a resource. the book was the world atlas and the way the story goes, great, great, great grandpa closed his eyes and touched a spot on the world map to determine what the child's name would be-

my great, great grandmother's name was "Amazona" (ggg grandpa's concession to ggg grandma was to "feminize" the name of the river).

My 3rd grade teacher was Nova Kane

My old neighbor was Harry Pores

A boy at the home I used to work at was ******** but was called Clitty for short.

Most of the names around here are just ridiculous and most are so phoenitcally wrong that pronouncing them is a task. Names like Sh'naqrintal. Absurd.

A little boy in a class I volunteered in was named Master.

I've also had a student named Payne. That was appropriate for her. :rolleyes1

These are people DH or I have actually met.

Sisters: Linen, Satin and Percale..... last name Sheets.

Richard Head

Justin Case

I also had a friend on another board complaining about what her cousin named his child: Jedi Knight

And my all time favorite comes from my own family. My cousin named her daughter after a prostitute in a country music song: Fancy

Brother and sister named Sandy and Rocky with last name of Beach (maybe spelled Beech, idk).

Crystal Shanda Lear

I've posted before about the mom who named her twin boys Cain and Abel.

And there is a child named Abcde - pronounced Ab-see-duh.

I personally don't know anyone with a strange name but I have heard several celebrities children's names' such as:
Audio Science
Banjo
and several others.

Happened today. I phonetically pronounced this last name in my head (to get the spelling correct) and realized...yes, I have an adolescent boy's sense of humor.

Leakeas. :lmao:

I apologize to everyone of greek origin. ;)

My ex swears she went to school with a boy named Michael (Mike) Hunt. People really don't think when they name their children!

I have met people with those bizarre names like Precious, Queen, Princess, Lovely, Lovey, Beautiful, and various others. I can't call them by name. I absolutely refuse to call somebody on the phone and say, "Is Precious there?" And I can't go up to somebody I know from college and say, "Hi Beautiful." I just can't do it.
