Wide World of Sports? Or Another Suggestion?

We have one day (maybe a day and a half) in Orlando before we go to Universal for a few days in early April. My husband was thinking about going to WWoS with our older kids. What is there to do there in early April? Have any of you gone and, if so, how many hours did you spend there?

We don't want to all do WDW since we are planning a trip down there to only go to WDW the end of next January and we figure the crowds would be terrible 4/2 or 4/3 with spring vacation starting. If my husband goes to WWoS, though, I may bring our 4yo to WDW for the day since the two of us have annual passes (the rest of the family does not have APs) .

Another place we've thought about spending a day is Typhoon Lagoon or possibly Seaworld (but I don't know that my older kids (10, 13, and 16) would enjoy watching a lot of animal shows.

Any suggestions about what we could do for the day or help with WWoS would be great.

I do know that we don't want to spend a day at Downtown Disney or checking out resorts. We can fit some shopping in another day and we've been to most of the resorts.

Thanks, T&B

I know you don't want to go to DTD, but what about Disney Quest? We haven't been there yet, we're heading to WDW 2/27, but are planning on a DQ day for my boys 11 & 8.

It's a bit of a drive, but Busch Gardens in Tampa is a good time...someone can refresh my memory, but I think it's about 45 minutes from Orlando...There's a lot to do there for all ages!

Disney Quest is a possibility that my DH has mentioned. I'm not sure how my 4yo would enjoy it and I'd probably take advantage of our APs and bring him to one of the parks. Any idea how busy DQ is at that time of the year? I've heard that it's not a good place to go if it's busy.

We wanted to stay in the Orlando area. We'll be driving from Maryland and will already have enough hours in the car. After Universal we'll head to Kennedy Speace Center and some beach in that area for a few days.

Thanks for the ideas! Anyone else?
