OK! After going around and around for a while, I purchased Braves v. Yankees tickets for DH on our upcoming trip. He is a really huge Yankees fan since childhood and has never been to a live game. He was very sweet in that he wanted to go but was did not want to take away from the parks/magic/trip to go to a game. I finally have convinced him it was OK.

So now I have tickets I need to know the details. We will have a car. We are staying at AKL and will be at Magic Kingdom for ADR at 8:00. Can I get to the complex from MK or will we need to go back to AKL and drive?

When we get to the complex will we have to pay an additional fee? The website says something about a $13.50 ticket or additional fees, but for what I paid for tickets I cannot imagine there being more.

Does anyone know which dugout is visitors? We assumed the third base line seating.

Any other info that you have about the complex, mechandise, parking, how much time to allow for travel to the complex, events, anything would be greatly appreciated because we have never been there and I don't even remember driving by it in 10+ trips.

TIA

The only Disney Transportation is the 2 new routes:All-Star Resort-ESPN Wide World of Sports and Pop Century-Caribbean Beach Resort-ESPN Wide World of Sports.:)

The "old" route was Disney's Hollywood Studios-ESPN Wide World of Sports.

From Magic Kingdom,I would suggest taking a bus to Pop Century and transfer to a WWoS bus there.Pop century is right across the street from WWoS.:)

If you are pressed for time, walk from Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary Resort and take a Taxi from there directly to WWoS.

You will not have to pay the "regular" WWoS admission of $13.50 at WWoS.Just produce your Braves ticket at the WWoS turnstiles.

WWoS is a BEAUTIFUL Sporst facility. There is a restaurant,ESPN WWoS Grill there as well.I suggest you walk around and look at the facility after the game.:)

You will have a great time at WWOS. Last March, we saw two games there - Braves vs Red Sox and Braves vs Yankees. We were on the lawn and it was a really great place to watch a game. They have all the usual baseball stadium style concessions and a nice little shop with lots of Spring Training logo merchandise.

They defintely add a Disney touch to the game - Goofy showed up at one of our games and Mickey at another.

If it is a hot day, I recommend the lemon and cherry slushies they sell down at one of the concessions. I think I had three of them over the two games we saw!

Hi! We are also going to a Braves game next week. We are staying at Boardwalk and were planning on just leaving from there and going to DHS to catch the bus. When did the new routes take effect? Would it be better to take a taxi from Boardwalk? Or should we go to one of the other resorts to catch a bus? Any ideas?

The change went into effect February 21.:)

If money is not a concern,DEFINITELY go with a Taxi from the Boardwalk Inn.

If you decide against a Taxi, walk to DHS from BWI,board a Pop Century bus and transfer to a WWoS bus at Pop Century.:)

awww, you are wonderful to do this for your husband! Let us know how it went. BTW, I am a HUGE Yankees fan as well! :cheer2:

As I understand it,it will depend on what Events are taking place at WWoS.:)

"Currently",the hours are 7:00AM-11:00PM.:)

Thanks so much for the info. We thought we would switch around our park days to got to DHS that day but if we can just hop the bus from MK to Pop and then to WWoS then we will definately do that.

Thanks for the info about the games. If anyone else has other info that would help make this a great experience let me know.

I think I may also surprise him with the Richard Petty Ride Along Experience. Has anyone done that? :confused3 Heck, this is Dis I am sure someone has but will they be here. We shall see!

Of course someone is here;):)-isn't the DIS amazing!:)

I thought the Ride-A-Long was fun but way overpriced(around $100.00).:)

It is only 3 laps with a top speed of 140 mph.

Having said that MOST Guests love the RAL and say they would love to do it again,so my opinion is definitely a minority one.:)

Riders get to wear a firesuit and put on a Hans Device, etc. just like the Nascar drivers.:)

Transportation is provided by a Van that has its "stop" at the Kennel/Lost and Found building at the TTC.(There is a sign at the "stop").
