Greetings Everyone: I know this is off-topic, but I've heard Kevin refer many times to the PodCast crew all going out to see Wicked together last month. Today is DW's and my 13th anniversary, and it is also opening night for Wicked here in Rochester. We have tickets for it tonight, and we're very excited - in part because of all I've heard about it from the Podcast. I can't wait.

Enjoy Dave!

I'm going on Sunday to see the B'way version. I can't wait. It's my Mother's Day gift to my Mom and her B'day gift to me.

I've got to download the soundtrack from iTunes.

Happy Mother's Day and Birthday to the two of you KAB407. Have fun!!!

Have a great time. I missed the show when it was in Portland -- I'm hoping it will be back!

I hope both of you have an AWESOME time.

You are in for a treat.

I was surprised at how funny some of the parts were.

Cant wait to hear about it.

Enjoy!!!!

Have a great time! I just saw it in Kansas City this past Saturday. I believe Rochester and the NE was their next stop. You're in for a great time!

If I take away anything from Wicked, it's the word "hideodious."

Enjoy the Show! We just got our tickets in the mail. We are going to see it in NYC on Aug 6. :cool1:

Make sure you come back and post a review! :thumbsup2

Have a great time. Defy gravity! (that will make more sense tomorrow!)

ENJOY saw the OBC in NY and again here in Cleveland i think it's the best "new" show for quite a long time but that's another topic :goodvibes

Ooooh I'm jealous. Can I hide in your pocket? :D

You'll really enjoy it!! If you see any items you want to buy there, you can always get them at wicked.com so you don't have to stand in lines. Same prices except for the shipping difference but you don't have to wait in line. ;)

What a show, what a show! We had a great time and really enjoyed it. In fact I had to download "Defying Gravity" onto my iPOD, and when they started singing "For Good" I couldn't help but think of Bawb. We were really impressed, and Kevin, you were right - there were some really funny parts to it. The song "Popular" in particular had me laughing. Our DD7 pooh: does the hair toss thing, and DW and I were telling her about the "toss, toss" part. I noticed that we had the same touring company that was just in Orlando a couple weeks ago. I was very impressed.

I also have to say that both DW and I had read the book a year or so ago, and neither of us liked the book. We both went into the show wondering how they could make such a popular "pop" musical out of such a dark book. But the musical was so much better than the book in my mind.

Thanks Dave.

I can't wait for Sunday. And I did download the original cast soundtrack from iTunes the other night. I did get a bit teary eyed the first time I heard "For Good".

Have fun on Sunday - you're really going to enjoy the show. I downloaded "For Good" onto my iPOD, and gave my DW a squeeze when they were singing it in the show. Great memory.

DH and I drove 5 hours to Kansas City to see it last Sunday. I have not been able to get Defying Gravity out of my head. I just love it when she sings "and if you care to find me look to the western sky!" - that part gives me chills. I boo-hooed like a baby during For Good.

The cast we saw (which is the same one from Orlando) was good, but I would give anything to see Idina Menzel in that role!

By the way, people who see Rent over and over are called Rent-heads (which I guess is me, I have seen it 3x and plan on seeing it again next year when it tours with some of the original cast), so what are people called who see Wicked over and over again? I think I might become one of them. I already have found where it will be in Tulsa in July 2009 (3 hours away) and in Memphis (3 hours away) in June 2009. That would be 2 times in less than a month!!

An Ozmopolitan? You will find lots of like-minded friends over at http://witchesofoz.com/ LOTS and LOTS of fangirls over there::yes:: There is even an address to write to the touring company. I'm sure they would be touched to hear how Bawb enjoyed the show and how "For Good" touched every one in a new way after his passing.

There are a lot of (illegal) clips on youtube if you search by song title or by "Wicked" if you need a fix.

Thank you for saying that! I keep hearing everyone talk about how great this show is but I can't imagine myself going to see it after attempting to read it. The book was awful! Well, I should say that the first 50 pages were awful. hmmm - perhaps I'll have to consider going to see it now - lol. Glad you enjoyed it, neighbor!

I read Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister and enjoyed it. I got about to the same point you did in Wicked and decided I loathed the book. DW wanted tickets to Wicked in Pittsburgh for her birthday and I was sort of dreading going. Once I heard Julie's comment about how the book and the musical diverged, I breathed a sigh of relief. I'm glad to hear from the rest of y'all that it's such a good musical.

I did want to mention that if you're going to a musical/show and want the soundtrack ahead of time to check out Amazon's mp3 store. It integrates nicely with iTunes and is sometimes cheaper than the iTunes store.

I hope the crew does another "what's on your ipod" segment. We bought so much music after that discussion.

I LOVED WICKED!!!!

The music, actors, and the set were amazing. For what is a very dark story, has some really funny lines in it (Magic wands, do they really have a point?) I really want to see this one over again.

Highly recommend Wicked. Toss Toss
