I would tend to think that typhoon lagoon might be more geared towards younger kids. They seem to not have as many "thrill" slides. However, I don't have kids so I didn't really check out the kiddie areas. Blizzard Beach may have a nicer one than Typhoon Lagoon.
With that said, TL does have the nice wave pool and lazy river...it just comes to mind as being friendlier to the timid and the young. Honestly, I think I prefer TL myself. I'm not a big drop slide fan.
Last summer we took our almost 3 year odl grandaughter (She was 2 years 11 months) She loved Typhoon lagoon kiddie area. She didnt care for all the squirtung water but she loved and must have rode that baby lazy river 20 times.
She wasnt crazy about the wave pool but she absolutly loved the little slide they set up in the over flow part too.
We've visited both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach with both of our children. We enjoyed TL much better because there's a lot more shade to be found there. We spent almost 8 hours there, and that's too long for their young skin to be in the sun , even with sunscreen....Both parks have nice childrens area, and I'm sure that you're little one will enjoy either !!
When they get a little older they'll probably prefer the thrills of BB....
We have been to TL twice with our DD. Once at 16 months and once at 3yo. She loved it last year when she was three and we are going back again this year. Of course I have never been to BB.
My DS just turned 4 and he loved the little water slide at typhoon lagoon. He climbed to the top and down that thing for about two hours. I am just grateful I could sit at the bottom and watch!!
