How is the Wi-Fi quality in the parks? Is it usable or am I going to be burning a lot of Verizon data during my 8 day trip after Thanksgiving? We are discussing buying phones for our kids to have to keep them occupied in lines but may re-think if they have to use our internet to be connected.

It's usable. Not wonderful, but usable.

I thought it was spotty at best this past week. It would drop both in the parks and the resort.

As an international visitor we rely on the wifi.

Spotty. Definitely spotty.

And non-existent in a lot of inner queues ie. Space Mountain, portions of Peoplemover etc.

Sometimes data was better, sometimes Wi-Fi was better. Just be prepared to quickly switch back & forth. My phone has a setting to turn on both but have it use Wi-Fi first then data if not available (seamless).

Depends on what you mean by 'burning a lot' of data. Running a basic app like MDE or email or games doesn't use much, were you hoping to stream a movie as a wait line strategy? There are plenty of games that once downloaded don't need Wi-Fi or data to play. What you want to prepare for is recharging of all those devices. No games are fun on a dead phone.
