Wi-Fi now available at MK!

Sounds interesting... What's it about?

I'm bound to get it anyway... Lol!

My previous comment wasn't accurate - there is an app for Android. More power to me :lmao:

EDIT: removed the link because Disboards didn't seem to like it but if you pop it into a google search you'll find plenty info

it's a free app from disney - it's called "my disney experience", but once i downloaded it to my iphone, the icon is called "disneyworld"

there are wait times, Fastpass return times, you can make restaurant reservations on it, etc..

Just downloaded it. It's pretty cool... But I wanna be in WDW so I can access the hidden stuff!

I guess this is where we are all different. I have just bought my DD a smart phone so that we will have it in time for when we go. We are not going to spend much if any time at all on Facebook there as we have better things to do. But being away from our family for 3 weeks it allows us to share a little of our Disney experience with them 'live' once in a while.

I know what suits us. I really don't give a hoot whether other people spend all their park time social networking. It works in my favor if it slows them down getting to join queues for rides :lmao:

Oh no! I feel mean now! :rotfl:

We are quite strict with our girls about phone usage, but we have two Facebook and Twitter obsessed girls! Rarely do they have their phones out of their hands - so we have 'no phone/no facebook' times, such as dinner, days away and family holidays!

A time to switch off and just spend time together!

xx

i wonder if eventually we'll be able to reserve fastpasses with it!

Interesting.... As long as it stays free to use wifi whilst we're in the states, that would be cool!

I honestly didn't mean that as a dig at you or your way of doing things and should have mentioned that my daughter is 10 so I think that is not quite at the level of obsession that the older pre-teens and teens reach. I think however because it's just the two of us in the house and I work full time and don't get any time off during school holidays at all, our Florida time really is a complete abandonment of everything but our time together so perhaps the situation is a little different :goodvibes

and maybe that's the reason they've added free wifi to the magic kingdom - so that we foreign visitors can have a chance to use that same technology...since the americans are able to use it on 3G, but we can't...

Yeah, it's always bugged me. I've got all the apps on my iPhone but always been to scared to take it/turn it on!!

I couldn't agree more. The only time I wanted to use my phone was at MNSSHP last year as I was following the DIS updates on the who, what, when, where and how of all the characters and it changed here and there with every party. No point doing a print out before we left as it was too far ahead of the parties but I was a little envious of those around us in line checking their apps and forums to help them adapt plans for the evening and must admit to having felt a bit cheated :rotfl:
