I looked up some old threads and seems as though there is no Wi Fi in DLR other then in the GCH lobby. Has this changed at all? I want to use the Mousewait app on our ipod touch while in the park, but it looks like it won't be an easy thing to do.
Any info/help with this would be great, thank you.

From my understanding there is no wifi at the park. And if there is it might be password protected.

There wasn't last year and I doubt it has changed. I have to use the 3G on the iPhone to get things to update properly. The Wifi at the grand works very well though. I could get a signal out to GRR but that is about it.

Thanks both of you. I guess we'll check it before leaving the hotel.
Do either of you know if there is an app that will tell which rides still have FPs left?

When we were in the parks in June of 2009, I was able to get WiFi in the area of DCA near the Grizzly River Rapids ride. It was the WiFi from the Grand Californian but it worked very well for me on my IPod touch.

Sorry, there is not at present.

We are in the same situation only have an ipod touch no iphone! I have the mousewait and check daily so I can see the trends? good luck and have fun

The only "app" that I know of that shows FP info is the official Disney app for Verizon phones. It's called Mobile Magic. Too bad it's not for iPod/iPhone.

I went to the lobby with my smartphone (wifi enabled) and though I found the connection for the Grand Californian Hotel, was unable to actually access it, not sure why. It's running a windows mobile 6 OS.

Maybe an itouch would work better to get that connection going.

I was reading on the net yesterday that Anaheim was trying to rig up a wifi service all though the city - can anyone tell us, did that not pan out? I'm assuming not.

It sure would be nice if BOINGO or someone would get in there and allow people to pay per use, such as for a week at a time. We would definitely want to use that service. We even bought it just for at LAX and our local airports.

I don't have an iPhone or iTouch (why yes I do live in a cave:laughing: ;) ) and I can get http://m.disneyland.go.com on my phone. It's not an app, but it does have a FP availability on it with available, limited availability, and none available status. It also has wait time info, but not actual time in min. It will say moderate or high wait time. Again not as fancy as the iPhone apps, but it'll give you some basic info. There's some other links available too and it's better than walking across the park to find out all the FP's for Splash are already gone. Hope that helps a little :)

You are very resourceful!! Thanks for posting this!

Can anyone tell me if there is a USA cell phone company where I can buy a sim card that offers some data usage? (Via use of my unlocked smartphone running windows mobile 6.) I had a T-mobile sim card last year on our trip and loved it, but it seems to me I can not find a company that sells a sim card with a pre-set data usage amount on it - it seems you have to lock into a contract which we don't want to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!

Thank you for sharing that info. That is what I've been looking for, something basic with just the information I want not a lot of extras. So does it charge you standard text rates? If I have unlimited texts does that make it "free"?

Maybe I am using the link wrong but I was unable to determine where the FP in formation is located. Sure could use your help.

Jack:

follow the link click on either park, then click attractions: Browse by FASTPASS availability: (is going to say) available and unavailable

hope that helps! :)

It's not texting, it's data. You would have to have a data connection on your phone. We have unlimited texting and data, so I have never tracked the charges. It would depend on your cell phone carrier and plan on the cost of using it.

There's also the same type of page set up for WDW. Just change "land" to "world".

Thank you for the link. I'm more in a cave than you  as not only do I not have an iPhone nor iTouch, but I don't have texting or data on my phone :lmao:. Yes, I know, a total troglodyte. However, I just got an iPad and the link you gave works on it. The day we arrive it will be mid afternoon and 2 other days we have morning appointments so this will let us know where to head first to grab a fastpass.
