We are going to a KOA next week. It says the campground has free Wi-Fi service. I'd really like to bring my laptop to watch my ebay auctions as well as email. For Wi-Fi I need a wireless antenna though??

You could check, but most laptops now have the wireless capabilities built in. When did you get your computer? What kind is it?

Look at the icons on the bottom right of your screen. If you have one that looks like a computer with waves coming out of it, you should be all set. If not, you can get a wireless adapter for your notebook for around $40 at Walmart, Target, Circuit City, etc. There are 2 types will work. One looks like a card and plugs into the slot on your laptop, the other plugs into any USB port on the laptop.

It is an Hp pavillion-- it is 2 yrs old. No computer icon w/ waves- but my son's does- so I guess I'll take his :teeth:

I don't have an icon with waves on my laptop and I can use wi fi. Look in your My network places and see if you have an icon for wi fi there.

I don't show anything there for wireless. My son's does though it has an option to set up a wireless connection. So, if I were to take his how do I actually connect??

Normally, clicking on the wireless icon will bring up a window that shows available wireless networks and you should be able to just click on the one you want to connect to. Depending on the setup of the network at the campground, you may or may not have to enter a key or password.
