I saw the header from the main board and had to follow it in. . .
And saw this.
Okay, department of backstory. One of my dear relations is Deaf. As a child, her parents took her to Dollywood every year during Deaf Days, just so that for one week of her year, she would be the "average" one and everyone else in the family would be the "weirdos". (Dear Relation's way to express it, not mine!)
Well, a dear friend has a nephew who recently (he's in middle school) told his mom that he likes boys not girls. (Not to stereotype, but uh, yeah, it wasn't news to any one who's known the kid since he was in diapers.) I mentioned the story of Dollywood Deaf Days and said (I who am Disney infected) that Disney has Gay Days, and Disney beats out Dollywood by a country mile, IMHO.
I said it rather jokingly, with only an ounce of conniving, but now DF's family are thinking about going to Disney during Gay Days! (Missing school days too, I think, on the grounds that it's "educational" or something. . .) I actually kinda' feel sorry for the kid. He comes out, and his folks use it as an excuse to justify going to Disney!
Anyway, I find it funny, people who don't want to go to Disney in June because they think it's "family unfriendly". What? Huh? Dear Friend's family wouldn't probably go to Disney normally, but this is FOR family, dang it! They'll suffer through Disney to do it!
(Poor babies!)
