why would a dvc rep say that a april use year will probably come up first

I am on the wait list for a resort. we were discussing use years and he stated a april use year will probably come up sooner than dec, march, feb why?

I did ask, he just stated you will wait longer for march, feb, dec than april. Why. Is it because the contracts that come back come back in the beginning of the month, and since this is march maybe the march one come back now?

He probably looked at the list and saw the Dec, March, etc hard long waitlists. I have been on the wailist for BCV points for over a year now.

Yep, my guess is that there is a longer waitlist for those use years.

Those use years are best for people who vacation during the winter/spring break cycle that begins Presidents Day weekend and runs to the week after Easter.

When we bought on Tuesday we asked about availability for BCV or BWV, and they had some points (I remember the total for BCV was 537) for both with a March UY only. He said they probably wouldn't last long.

Yep, I love my March UY -- rarely have to waitlist for add-ons!

question, if you have april use year and bank 100% of your points by sept 29, but last minute the following february you decide you want to make a trip feb28- march 4. what do you do. the points for the april use year do not come til april first. what would you do. just borrow points from next year? and if so, how does that effect the points you banked from the following year. Also, if you have til say sept 29 to bank your points and have a trip that you have to cancel say july 4, can you book the trip within 31 days from your banking window , say aug 31 - sept 5?

Yes, you'd need to borrow from the next Use Year. That will not affect the banked points at all - they will remain in the next Use Year.

If you cancel a reservation, the points will be returned to your account to be banked or used for another reservation - based on availability and banking deadlines. The banking deadline is just that - it does not have any affect on when you can make a reservation.
