My clipart has been working great until yesterday. What's the problem? Can anyone help?

It seems that vB codes are not working exactly as they should. vB codes are the ones that appear within brackets &#91 and ]. Try the HTML code for displaying your clipart. I've shown it below.

&#91img]http://www.disneyclipart.com/cgi-bin/jump.cgi?ID=685&#91/img] should display the clipart but instead comes up as a link like this
jump.cgi
. It seems to have to do with certain characters in the URL like "-", "?", "=", etc. This seems to have occured either with the update to the boards last weekend or sometime after that.

Where as if I use the HTML code &ltimg src="http://www.disneyclipart.com/cgi-bin/jump.cgi?ID=685"> this is what we get..

<img src="http://www.disneyclipart.com/cgi-bin/jump.cgi?ID=685">

I'm still looking into what has changed. It may be that you have to reference things differently from here on out. I've asked others to look at what is going on. I'll let you know when I know.

I fixed you up there jimmiej...

(Thanks to Bob for his incredible knack for deciphering "code". :D )

I saw that Bob. But if I remember correctly, there have always been problems linking directly to "disneyclipart.com"

Testing an [ img ] link....

mickey02a.gif

Testing the < src= version....

<img src="http://www.disneyclipart.com/images23/Characters/Mickey_Mouse/mickey02a.gif">

Okay... now both images show up! I'm going to try it after I clear my cache file and see if both still work.

*Forgive me jimmiej, I'm going to "mess" with your signature again.*

I thought of that too but it references fine using HTML but not using vB Code.

The other thing is this person had that same problem and disneyclipart isn't involved.

testing

And if you look at the source code, it is rendered differently.

Chris, by the way, I sent you a PM.

I think you're right Bob. I just changed the signature back to [ img ] and the link was lost. A direct link in the BODY of a POST doesn't seen to be effected.

I'm off to re-fix jimmie's signature.:rolleyes:
