Why we joined DVC.

we headed to MK. As we walked under the tunnel and into Main Street and the square I looked at my 2.5 yo. He had a look I had never seen before. He was smiling so hard it looked like his face hurt and his eyes were huge and filled with amazement at everything he saw.

I took my son, then 4 y.o., to MK six months after his mom died from cancer. He had that same look in his eyes.

That's why we go back to WDW, and DVC makes it easier.

Thanks for reminding me of that wonderful, precious memory.

we bought DVD for our kids because quite simply, it WDW, is the happiest place on earth!

For us it was quite simple. We love Orlando as a family get away each year and Disney is a safe environemnt with great options at your fingertips. Without WDW we wouldn't have purchased so I guess WDW was the reason not so much DVC or the DVC Resorts.

Looking forward to years of great family trips and many memories.

We joined so that we could take our children DS3 and DD newborn every year to a place where all 4 of could enjoy! I think this will be the big year for our son who will be 3 1/2 when we go! I can't wait to see his reaction to the characters he sees on TV and plays with!

We're making memories so when/if I get Alzheimers (my father had it) I'll always think I am at WDW.

DH and I both have always been Disney lovers, but living on the west coast, we grew up going to DL. We wanted to share the magic with our kids too. A couple years ago we went on what we thought was a "once in a lifetime" trip to WDW, and before we were even halfway into our trip decided that we just had to go back. After some particularly magical CM interactions, dh said, "Why do we ever want to vacation anywhere else?" So the next time we walked by a DVC kiosk, we signed up for a tour and that was that.

We knew we'd made the right decision when a few months later we made a rather impulsive decision to go back (just the two of us) for our 20th anniversary. Without DVC we likely wouldn't have done anything more than go out to dinner for the occasion, and we surely would never have done anything like flying to Orlando for 5 days to celebrate. What a fantastic memory we made.

Now we're planning a trip for next year with the whole extended family. That never in a million years would have happened without DVC.

So it has given us the ability and the push we needed to spend time and make memories with our kids, each other, and our folks & siblings. And we get to stay in really nice places while we do it!

That is almost our story as well. We live in Port Orchard and DL was our yearly trip. Then my DW and her sister went to WDW and they loved it. We appreciate the quaintness and the history of DL, but WDW has so much more to offer and do while there. DVC also allows us to visit more often.

We flew into Disney spring break of 2003. Did our research on the parks and My saying for the trip was" if you want to do it do it now It'll be 10 years before were back ". So commando style it was, intense but fun. After our return home my 9 year old DS had baseball practice and he had told me 1 of his teamates said there family goes 2 or 3 times a year. I thought NO WAY. So its just me and this kids dad watching practice that day and I asked him, thinking that I could tell my son the corrected version of the kids story but he said ya we do.
I have a lot of respect for this guy. I asked how is that possibly? he said "were Vacation Club Members, call this 800 #, read the stuff, its a no brainer". I did, it was. So I actually bought site unseen, best family investment I have ever made. You want to talk about being in aww that 1st trip to a 1 bedroom at BCV, best room he had ever stayed at. There is a whole different level of enjoyment knowing that you'll be back soon, that your home. You can stop and smell the apple pie so to speak. Thank you for this tread, writing this has brought back alot of great memories TY

We bought DVC in Sept 2003 while on a trip with our son, his then girlfriend, our daughter and her then boyfriend. We were pretty sure that this would be our family. Fast forward 2 engagements, 2 weddings and 6 DVC trips later.We are expecting our first grandchild, a boy on Monday ,June 11!!!!! This is exactly why we bought DVC. We can't wait to bring him on his first trip to Disney! Since we bought we have also shared DVC with siblings,niece and nephews. It is by far the best purchase we have ever made!!!!!
