Non-Disney Online Games Why was Webkinz so popular when the game didn't even work for some people?

I never figured out how on earth Webkinz became so popular when people even knew from the get-go that it never worked and was a waste of money on the plushies? Because when I played on Webkinz it rarely worked and would constantly have glitches all the time and Ganz never would fix them. I think it was because Webkinz had so much competition that Ganz was mainly focusing on selling Webkinz plushies than the actual game. And I couldn't see how parents paid money for Webkinz plushies when the game couldn't even work in the first place. Another thing that caused Webkinz's demise is that Ganz added add-ons like Deluxe Memberships and KinzChat Plus which also the chat rooms never worked because it seemed like anything you talked about in the KinzChat Plus rooms Ganz accused you of using profanity and would ban members all the time. But I think Webkinz was an interesting game that took toy play to a new level

We never had any problems with the Webkinz site working. The chat room worked safely and as intended from what I recall. Their goal was to sell plushies and the site addons. They were popular as kids liked the cuteness of the plushies and the sim game.

Webkinz is still very much around and got a huge update last year. Perhaps you should actually Google what comes to mind before posting that something is gone, dead, etc.

I played Webkinz for years and never had any glitches or issues. I was also very active on Webkinz communities back in the day and never heard anyone have problems either. That might've been a you problem rather than a game problem tbh

Webkinz is still alive although it's not as massive as it was during its prime. During its peak in popularity, it was HUGE. I remember every store carrying at least a few plushies and you would have to wait outside Hallmark stores like it's Black Friday for the newest releases.
