Why was there a prejudice against fiction during the 2000s?

During the 2000s we had well dressed well groomed people on the news saying things like The Walking Dead is limiting America from achieving it's full potential.

And "Bulletstorm" will turn you into a rapist.

What was up with all that snobbery?

It was like people who grew up during the 80s-90s were conditioned to hate creativity.

It’s Fox- whadda you expect? 😉
I never noted a decrease in fictional books during the ‘90’s 🤷🏽‍♀️

honestly, those opinions from 20 yr ago, in MY opinion, are old news and don't matter anymore. It's time to move on. Live in the now. Doesn't matter if somebody didn't like your favorite TV show 20 yr ago.
