Why was I banned?

I clicked to go into Blue Bayou. I walked away from the computer to answer the phone. I come back to this message:

Adult themes are never appropriate for VMK. Your account has been banned for 24 hours. If your behavior goes unchanged, you will receive a month ban. A third offense may result in a permanent ban. Please review the VMK Values. You have been banned from VMK. Your ban expires xxxxx.


Does anybody know what could have happened? It's only 24 hrs, so may not be worth calling about, but I'm curious...

this always happens. Uh.. Contact VMK, using there phone number.. which i dont have, its in the players guide i think. And ask why youve been banned in detail.. or, tell them The ban was a mistake so they can remove it from your records on VMK!

Maybe there were others in the room and they mistakenly banned you, guilt by association. I am sorry that happened. That really stinks.

I have been mistakenly banned, but mine was for 10 years. I could not have that, so I called.

even tho its only 24 hours, you should get your name cleared as if they were to ban you again, they will see the prior and perhaps escalate the punishment.

Most definitely try to get this ban removed. VMK has recently started banning entire rooms for the offenses of a few. If you ever wish to be a community leader, you need a clean record, as well. Email using the contact us link and call them. Good luck!

This is actually pretty scary. To think that you can get banned for other people's behavior that you have no control over and aren't even partaking in...it worries me. If this really does happen a lot, VMK needs to be more watchful and diligent about banning the right people. I'm tired of all this knee-jerk reaction stuff.

I did not think to clear my record, but I should. I have emailed them, but will call them as well. This sucks, I hope others are aware, too!

Good luck! Sometimes VMK sends messages by mistake and take them away when notified.

I had that happen to me, and it stinks! It was the sunday before Bubbles got her life long ban. I was doing stuff around the house, so I was riding the jungle cruise. Well I finished the ride and it left me on the dock, but I was doing some dishes and I dc for inactivity. When I got finished I logged on to find a message from staff saying I had received a warning for adult conduct and to review my behavior and so on..same message you got, but mine was a warning. Now my daughter logged on her account couple of hours later, and she had the same message, but she had not been on all day.
I wrote the black hole, and got a form answer back from shorty saying I was talking adult content and or giving personal information that could give my location away. I wrote back again stating I was not talking, and hadn't said a word to anyone in hours before I received the message. He replied with the same response! Word for word response. So once again (3rd times the charm right? lol) and this time asked for a copy of what I said that got me this warning, since only myself and my 17 year old daughter were home that day, and whenever this happened I was afk for atleast 15 minutes, before I dc for inactivity. He sent me the nicest note..NOT..but he told me if I didn't stop contacting VMK for this problem I would be banned, not given a warning. When all the problems with Bubbles happened, I took someone advise and called to get it removed since some day myself or my daughter would like to be a CL. Well I called about a month ago and I've never heard back from anyone, nor have I seen a copy of what I said..LOL I really want to see it, since I was afk.
Now just last week, waiting in storybook land on dream team, some guy in the room said he lived close to disneyland and they had just had a earthquake or something like that, and everyone in the room got the warning from staff..That pissed me off, since one person says something wrong and the whole room gets in trouble!!
I know darn good and well, that the can see who says what and when, so staff behind the computer screens need to stop being lazy and put the trouble makers in their place, not the people who are innocent!!
Ok well that's what happened to me, and hope you get your fixed!

Last time I got a warning from them about adult conduct, I sent them a message right back.

I told them that if they are going to threaten to ban a player, that they should review the entire chat log before they issue it. I never did receive that ban!

I just got a message like that about sharing personal information, not with the threat of banning, but I don't remember even logging onto vmk that day. If I did, it was for a credits run and I never talk to people on a credits run. I'm glad I found this thread, because I'll definetly call and write to them now - wasn't sure if it was worth it since the ban came and went without my knowledge. Thanks all.
Edit: I looked at the Players Guide and only found a number for a codes person, plus Yavn's boss. Is one of these the right number? If someone does have the right number could you pm me? Thanks!

I have looked for a number, but with no success. If someone could PM me with a number, I'd appreciate that as well. Sounds like it seems to happen according to VMK's whim. I don't want to spend too much time on this, but it is annoying.
