Why this rate difference?

Booking through National (using discount codes)

June 29 - July 6, 2005 I get rate of $274.22
(priceless vacations discount is $111.30)

for
June 30 - July 7, 2005 I get rate $370.49
(pricesless vacations discount is only $38.90 ???)

Why is there a $96 difference from one day to the next?
Is it because of the July 4th weekend?

You are probably right. July 4th equals bigger crowds and higher costs. Just the nature of the business. Cheap things sell out fast

National's site can be really flakey. Try clearing your cache and National cookies and try the reservation again.
