Don't hang around here is much as i used to. :(

Why the change? Do they see some weather issues a week out? Some celebrity have a scheduling issue?

Most likely a scheduling issue. I read one rumored reason is that Idina Menzel's Broadway show is closed on 12/8.

Broadway is dark on Mondays.

....And therefore they changed the taping to let her come and be part of it. (the end of the sentence there for those of us who enjoy things being spelled out)

When she was on the Oscars, did she have a cold? She terrified me singing "let it go". I hope she had a cold b/c I truly could not comprehend how she has any sort of live singing career based on that performance.

On the other hand, live with Jimmy Fallon while sitting down, that was really nice. (though the "fractals all around" part is challenging and just plain weird for anyone)

I knew that there would be Frozen stars and Broadway is dark on Mondays, just didn't put two and two together.

When was this posted? Expected a ton of "Taping rescheduling is ruining my trip" threads. :)

The threads are there, but they've mostly calmed down at this point. Not much you can do about it, so I think they all got busy changing their FP+ and ADRs where they could.

Actually Chicago, A Delicate Balance, Mamma Mia , Phantom of the Opera, Rock of Ages and This Is Our Youth all have Monday performances. Broadway used to be dark on Mondays many many moons ago.

I've seen her twice in Wicked and her talent is mind blowing! Her performance during the Oscars wasn't her best, but she was far from terrifying. People have no idea what type of pressure artists like that are under. They get very little rest, have to work while sick, the stress of the media, traveling all the time... not to mention how scary it must be performing in front of millions of viewers. It could have been any number of those things.

and she probably was trying to figure out who John Travolta had just introduced.

Her "Defying Gravity" is still the highlight of my Broadway life!!! Amazing !!

Still have to get around to seeing "If/Then"

I saw a traveling production of Wicked, it was my favorite show ever. I can only imagine seeing it with Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, I loved their CD of the play.

I was at D23 last year when she debuted Let It Go, my first reaction was it is an awkward song to sing. I love the dance version, we were dancing to a DJ playing it in front of the castle at 5:00am at the end of the 24 hour day.

Check YouTube for bits of it, posted from bootleg clips.

They were amazing together!! I will never forget Idina missing what was supposed to be her last show after falling thru a trapdoor---

Their "Popular" still makes me smile !!!

In 2008, Idina was touring and promoting her new album "I Stand". I did not really know her music, but my daughter and her friends did from the Broadway work she had done and which had made it onto CDS and the internet. She happened to be doing a show in our town and my daughter found out about it "late to the game". So the tickets we got were not super close or anything, but my DH is great friends with the theater's director so he got us a couple of back stage passes. I went really on a lark to accompany my then 15-year old daughter because I didn't want her to attend the show alone. Ended up being blown away by the show. It was simply Idina singing songs from her CDs and various songs from her Broadway career and songs that she said she enjoyed personally. Fantastic show-woman and that voice!!! It was truly one of the most enjoyable shows I have ever seen in my life.

Even the best singers have off nights sometimes. (I say this as a singer myself) It can be a cold, or not being able to correctly hear the orchestra (in the case of the Oscar's, I'm sure she had a monitor in her ear to be able to hear the orchestra, since they were pretty far apart) - any time technology is involved, something can go wrong.

I went to see the D.C. previews of If/Then last December, and I can very much assure you that her voice is fantastic. She was flawless the night we saw her, and I'd love to see it again now that it's on Broadway! Saw her again this summer at her Radio City Music Hall Concert, and again, just amazing. Her range, the ability to belt as high as she does, it really is rare and it's awesome to hear it live.

Idina Menzel...

Plus, she is a Disney Princess, even though they never inducted her,
and Disney has virtually ignored the wonderful film in which she became one.

Are you talking about Enchanted? That was Amy Adams.
