Why stay at the BCV?

For clarification to jade1 and anyone else confused who is still confused...the only part of the question that is a direct comparison of BWV and BCV is the location choice...IF you choose location it must be more than just being an Epcot resort...Not trying to pick on jade1, it is just the available example-jade1 said that the location is NOT better than BWV but voted location-- inaccurately I would say--the reason as elaborated by jade1 would not be location -- (The 11 month advantage is included in other but I think a bit too specific to get to the heart of the matter as Wes addresses)--all other things being equal say at 7 months which resort would someone like jade1 choose?...it sounds like it would still be BCV for the pool or the theme but I'm not sure. But when one votes location it should be because if given the choice between the two similarly located resorts the location of BCV is preferred. Among the reasons one might prefer that Epcot location over BWV would be it is quieter, or closer to Epcot than BWV, or closer to Beaches and Cream, or something like that...


Also- I never implied that when BCV is not new no one will ever stay there again--I merely said that newness will not be the deciding factor in staying there... the resort will have to have some overriding appeal to the vacationer to choose it over other resorts (equal access to all being assumed)

PKS44, the main reason I plan to stay at BCV is the LOCATION.

The main reason I plan to stay at BWV is the LOCATION.
If the poll said why stay at BWV and "location" was on the list, I would pick that. But then you would say BCV has the same app location so you must choose some other reason-it cant be why someone would want to stay at BWV either then.

So to summarize: Nobody can say the main reason they like to stay at BWV is LOCATION because they could stay at BCV.

Well this is at least allowing for a clear discussion but I have to disagree about never picking the BWV for location--it has the restaurants and the nightlife close by that BCV does not--so one could pick location for either BCV or BWV IF being near to or far away from those things were the reason...I think it boils down to boiling it down to THE DECIDING factor--you know -all other things being equal...Examples for myself- the deciding factor for me would be SAB at BCV-- that is the only reason I would choose BCV over BWV...If I had to choose (oh man, poor me, having to make a choice) between a preferred view BWV or a BCV- the points are the same, put it another way...if it were cold like in January I would never spend the points on BCV if I could get standard view at BWV-but I would in the summer. The deciding factor in favor of OKW would be the lower points. The deciding factor at VWL would be the theming and the deciding factor for BWV would be the location and it gets tricky here because it is both the location AND the lower points for standard rooms. If I had to choose I guess it would be the standard view points. SO each resort has it's own special features and those features are different not just to different people but also for different vacations. I plan on visiting them all , new, old everything...just depends on what factor I am looking for that particular vacation.

Nicely said Paul-totally agree with what you said. I would say the only slight disagreement is the location of BCV to me allows for the boardwalk nightlife and all it offers (I'm not sure the ESPN club is any further than some parts of BWV-it may be closer)-we often take the bikes around etc, walk to Yaht club area for fireworks view, Jellyrolls is not that far of a walk form BCV in our opinion (all you do at WDW is walk). So BCV location is not only good for Epcot and boats to MGM-but close to boardwalk, beaches and cream and SAB. Like you, we enjoy all the WDW DVC resorts for various reasons. BCV and BWV for location, OKW room size and VWL for theme/beauty and yes-location-boats to MK and Contemporary.

VWL is still my number one choice for a stay...especially by myself. That's because for me its the most "resorty" of the resorts, has close proximity to MK, has good food and plenty of boats. OKW is also "resorty" but loses out in terms of proximity and other issues faced by people in studios.

I like BCV over BWV because noise doesn't seem to carry as much from the hallways, its away from the Boardwalk and most of all because its right next to EPCOT. The attention to guest comfort is also better at BCV...more places to sit and vegetate. Theming is actually better over at BWV.
