Why stay at BCV over BWV

There are other reasons besides those already mentioned to choose BCV over BWV:

1: the views: why get a pool view at BWV when you could look at Epcot Resorts Blvd, with maybe a hint of Epcot in the background? Then again BWV has those low-points Std view units where you can look at cars too, tho there is all that annoying landscaping in the way, and late at night you might be interrupted by some fireworks from Illuminations.

2: the units and furnishings: far better to have the worn and chipped furniture with some real character than the more generic and nicely maintained stuff at BWV. Even worse, BWV has those Grand Villas, which must be full of snobby folks with lots of points.

I am of course being facetious here, but just pointing out that there are some significant advantages to BWV that should not be discounted. I certainly understand the Original Poster's senitments. SAB is really cool, and we look forward to our next dip there. And the combination of SAB and the proximity to Epcot would be the factors that would draw us to BCV over BWV. But frankly, if we were not planning pool time, I'd personally take BWV, since there is less likelihood of being near a road and the views are just better, for the most part.

Ok...I think I'll be really happy at BCV. My requests are non-smoking, the 2 one-bedrooms close together(which never happens) and a room on a high floor. Any recommendations?

We stayed in a 1BR (room 529 and I would recommend that you NOT stay there....on the 5th floor there are several room like 529 that have smaller, enclosed balconies....I would encourage you to ask to NOT be put in those...they may act like they don't know what you are talking about so maybe just avoid the 5th floor altogether and that should keep you out of those rooms--it is the architecture on the 5th floor that creates these -IMHO- inferior balconies...

As for reasons to stay at BCV over BWV: (we have done both) These would be the ones I can think of-

1) the self-parking is a big plus
2)The place is quieter as it is back and away from things as opposed to being in the middle of the action
3)The SAB is unique
4)Close to Beaches and Cream

Of course there are also reasons to stay at BWV over BCV--but that is not what this thread is about....

We've stayed @ both & prefer BCV. I like the decor better (BWV's rooms need to be updated). I do like BWV, just not as much as BCV. The pool is great and no one else can pool hop. I love Cape May and Beaches & Cream. The parking either valet (which we usually use) or park ourselves in the lot which is right there. I like the atmosphere better. There's more grass. Maybe it's the blue coloe or something, but it just feels more relaxing there to me. Although I don't think BWV's are loud, I think BCV's are more quiet (maybe because they are in back). The only thing I don't like about BCV's is the long haul back to your room. Most of the time it's ok, but after walking all day at a park it's exhausting.

I never understand how everyone makes such a big deal about the short walk to Epcot. You would think that BWV is so far away you ought to take the busses instead. I really don't see the distance being that great. I might be twice as far but its about the distance of one country in EPCOT. If that is a big deal to someone they probably shouldn't be walking. The only benefit I see is SAB which I poolhopped at when Luna Park was in refurb. I see the walk everynight over to boardwalk to the restaurants as being the far walk. Also, BWV is much closer to MGM. No offense to BCV they are nice but I think every puts way to much value in its proximity to Epcot.

It seems like BCV has BWV beat in the day time while BWV has BCV beat at night?

I know what there is to do at night at BWV, but what is there to do at night at BCV if I want a walk of less than 5 minutes, don't want to go into a park, and want approx. 45-60 minutes of entertainment for myself and my kids? Is going over to the BW or using BW's community hall my only choices? I guess I could spend an hour eating the kitchen sink with my whole family.

I ask this as I'm a BWV owner looking at adding on points at BCV.

We own at BW and VWL but have a week booked at BCVs this August. I admit I'm a little sad to not be at the BW. I think the pool at BW is much more enjoyable. I love the open slide and the fact that I can see the entire pool from one place. At SAB we end up moving around to watch the kids. The pool bar at SAB seems inconvenient too. And there isn't a community hall at BCVs either. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised and find out that we'll find some unique things to love about BCVs

To me, it's not that the BW area is "nosy", as much at it is "busy". BC is much quieter, yet still has the ability to walk outside of your resort and be "in the middle" of it all.

Beca....actually, the BWV guests really are "nosy"....that's why they had to move the rooms above the boardwalk level so all the guests wouldn't stare into the resort rooms on the first floor!
