I certainly don't want to, and neither does my DD17 and DM, but my DH and DS15 are set on it. So, does anyone want to join them??? I booked a fishing cruise out of Saratoga Springs on 12/28/2005 at 10 a.m. for them, and was wondering if there are any die-hard bass fishermen (or women) out there who would like to share. It's for 2 hours, there's room for 3 more (5 total), no food allowed on board (I guess they provide drinks and snacks), and it's catch and release. I figure since the total is $225, anyone who wants to join in could be responsible for $40 each, plus whatever tip you all decide on. Any takers? Post here, or PM me.

I would do it. But we are going to be having a white Christmas in NH during that week...

The fishing excursions get pretty good reviews. I have never done it, but I saw it on TV once.

Just to let you know...I HATE FISHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! pirate: pirate: pirate:

Because I am a terrific mother I went with my DH and 2 DS on our last trip to Disney. I had a wonderful time. Truly wonderful. i enjoyed the sun, drank a couple of sodas and laughed at the silly men in my family. I have some fantastic video and pictures, You shoukld re-think going!!!! :flower:

Did you also have to buy a fishing license? Silly question, I know but I was curious since we have thought about doing it? I just wondered if there were other costs involved or if it was the straight cruise price including snacks? Thanks!

Since you're led by a licensed guide, you don't need to have a license yourself. And as far as I can tell, this price includes everything...lines, bait, snacks...they probably even bait your hook for you, if you want (and, oh, yeah, I'd want that...).

Well, I think "the girls" are going to tool around the lake in SeaRaycers, scaring all the fish away, whilst "the boys" curse us heartily, but there's still a chance that if we can't pawn it off on someone else, we'll go (but only if someone baits my hook and takes the yucky fish off). The only reason I might even consider going is so I can make my husband angry by catching a bigger fish than him :earboy2: .

Hmmmm, lemme see. . .

Fish in a fully stocked, capture and release lake where there are bass that have been patrolling the water for years.

A chance to hook into a trophy size lunker. . .

I'd do it in a heartbeat if my wife would let me.

Went last summer on Bay Lake from WL, it was great. They do bait the hook for you. Got about 15 nice size (2 or 3 lb) bass in 2 hours. Fished right in front of MK. Wonderfull.

That's one of the things on my to do list at WDW. One of these days. I love to fish.

my cousins and I went finishing long ago at Dixie Landings...didnt catch anything, but its definitely not your everyday Disney experience.

Safetymom, you should check out a guide on Lake Toho. $225 for 6 hours and some places with give you the day free if you catch a 15 pounder.

My Dfi might go, but I won't let him. :teeth: And we will be long gone before you arrive.

Yeah, like your wife will let you.

Or mine for that matter.... :rotfl2:

Fishing, yes, she'll even go. At Disney... :rotfl2:

As to why someone would want to fish at WDW, I have this description that someone gave me several years ago (which came from some article):

"A true fisherman is a driven individual. He lives for those challenging moments when a creature from the sea takes a small nibble on his line causing him to wait with bated breath to learn if all his meticulous preparation has been successful. That creature is not really a fish, but instead a trophy, a prize, an Olympic Gold Medal, that awards the fisherman for all his cunning. A true fisherman will fish any time of year and anywhere. He will drill a hole through the ice of Lake Superior in February, unmindful that the vehicle that got him there may sink into the lake. He will fish waist-deep in the bayous of Lousiana surrounded by snakes, alligators, and mosquitos. See a narrow stream and he will retun for his gear to give it a try. If you fill the bathtub at home, he will drop a line. His passion is never ending and he follows religiously any reports of the newest rods, reels, lines, or hooks that promise to create even the slightest of an edge in his quest to capture his prey. When he hooks that bass, that walleye, that trout, or other finned delicacy, he experiences a joy that is next to orgasmic. Then, of course, he takes it home to his wife to clean."

Oh no...and he's passing this legacy on to my son! This is dreadful!

So, any takers? Anyone want to join my menfolk in this ridiculous obsession?
