Why not to buy into Poly 1 but maybe Poly 2 / Those Darn Bungalows !!!!

If I want a 1BR at PVB I reserve two (hopefully connecting) rooms. I've never had a problem getting connecting rooms.

I have discussed at length with DVC as well previously and talked directly with the team that creates the point charts. The point specifically outlined by myself is total points can not go up.
Agreed the total points to book the resort for the whole year can not go up, which must be tied against the number of points declared to the resort, but the caveat is that 2 bedrooms lock-offs get counted as booked as 2 bedrooms in that rule. Since lockoffs count as 2 beds so the lockoff premium doesn't necessarily violate that. That was my only point, so resorts without dedicated studios and 1 bedrooms those can increase 20% year over year without any other limitations and the POS says it is allowed. This last statement is the thing that makes me cautious buying say VGF (for deluxe studios) or BLT.

However, Increasing the lock-off premium (switching points from 2 beds to 1 beds/studios, though I argue this point isn't allowed anyways) isn't increasing the number of points in the resort, per my first point.

If bungalows became 50 points, it would be 3-4 points more on studios, which isn't a huge deal IMO. I bet Poly1 owners would be THRILLED with that actually, because a bungalow for 50 points is a screaming steal, and they would be stalked and walked.

Let's see your math if you think this is somehow terrible for the studios.
I would be thrilled if they did this. I have 200 poly 1 points, which doesn't get me a bungalow for a week even if I bank and borrow, but even if the studios went up by 4-5 points/night, I'd still be able to get a week in a studio each year.

Those Bungalows are pretty sweet, if someone can actually afford them, but they do always seem empty whenever I visit. I wish they dropped the points to rent them even lower during off points in the year so people can get them experience them. They built them for a particular luxury clientele. Are they ever sold out?

I am considering buying into Poly 1 in the future through re-sale because I can never rent from a member post 7 months from date of check in lol poly points home owners don't really post too much on the DVC-Rent threads for for some reason.

Hate chancing what I want at the 7 month mark. I usually do lake view. But definitely won't ever be able to rent enough points for a bungalow lol
