Why doesn't Disney World reservations have a toll-free number like most service companies, i.e airlines, hotels, etc? This is very tacky to me. Don't they make enough money already on park fees and food!

I love Disney World, but every few years or so when I decide to make a trip this little inconvenience always strikes me as a cheap thing for them to do. It makes me re-think, do I really want to go??

They don't advertise it but I found this 800 number when I was trying to make ressies in 2005. Haven't used it since then so don't know if it's still a working number.

Because they know they have you. They know you're coming anyways so why have an extra expense in their budget when you can just as easily cover it?

I've used the 800 number that wdwherewecome posted and it works just like the non-toll-free number (I once had a CM apologize to me for running up my phone bill while I was waiting on him to finish typing even though I called the 1-800 number).

Also, most cell phone plans now include long distance at no extra cost so we sometimes use them as well (when we can't remember the 1-800 number).

FYI

Call you local phone company and tell them you want the plan with unlimited long distance. Most of them offer it now, just like cell phones.

I haved used this 800 number for the past 6 years. It is actually going to the WDW travel company. They handle anything and everything for you.

GOOD to know. i learn so much on this board. i also wondered the same thing. i asked one time while on the phone if they had an 800 number and they said NO!:scared1:

Disney has several toll-free numbers. They just don't publish them. I use 877-939-3732.

Does it matter anymore, most of us have national unlimited anyway.

Thank you all for the replies. I will give one of those 800 numbers a try next time. (I don't like to call at work and don't have unlimited long distance at home.) Though, I feel like Disney is *worse* for having unpublished 800 numbers than having none at all. Just a pet peeve of mine. Of course, I'm still going! ;)
