Why No WALL-E At The Parks?

Interesting that most Pixar movies are represented in either DL or WDW, but there's really nothing from Wall-E. It seems like that movie would be a perfect fit in Tomorrowland or Future World. I see a few trading pins etc. but no rides, shows, characters, or anything like that. Why is Wall-E absent?

As they say...

No WALL-E
At DISN-E
So SORR-E

:confused3

The cynical answer would be that Wall-E just never had enough merch to sell. It was a great movie, and beloved by many, but it never sold a lot of stuff like Cars or Toy Story.

My son loves Wall-E too, so I'm also disappointed that there's no Wall-E presence at WDW.

Maybe Disney is afraid people will remember how out of shape the people were in the movie and in turn- guest will cut back on Mickey ice cream ears and turkey legs?
Fwiw- I love That movie too.

Or get offended by it. I remember the movie getting a little bit of blow back here in the states for daring to remind us all how fat we're getting.

I loved WALL-E I would like to see a presence in the park for sure.

If only he was a Princess.....

As far as characters, at least for Wall-E himself, Disney would have two choices: A costume or an actual robot. Wall-E doesn't look very costume-friendly. Many of his parts just look too thin. And then there are the treads. Don't know how those would work. They probably could do a remote control robot, but my guess is that would require much more technical skill than Disney is willing to pay for a "character performer." I won't even guess at any technical difficulties with radio signals.

And I can't even imagine how they'd do a hovering EVE.

Great question. Wall-E is definitely a favorite for our family, too. In my opinion, one of Pixar's best, and certainly one of their most poignant.

I get that a M&G would be tough, but what about working in some of the messaging into Future World at Epcot? At The Land or something? I know that most focus on the health message of the film, which is great, but one of the other positive messages that really stood out for us is the need to take care of our surroundings. Remember the garbage piling up? The waste? Seems to me that might be a nice tie-in to the preservation messages they try to teach at Living with the Land and the behind the scenes tour.

Searching to find that, I found the Pixar/Marvel/LucasFilms mashup that I desperately want to see now.

The issue was that it wasn't a very friendly robot. They did a meet and greet with it and everyone was told not to touch it and not to go really near it.

I would assume that its just not a cuddly character, its an industrial robot with lots of pinch points. Also even if they could make it people friendly since its short would make for bad pictures.

As a side note there are wall E builders clubs.

Yeah, I could see that. It would be much more suitable in a show or parade.

I always thought WALL-E would fit in well with the Living with the Land ride.

I too am bummed there is no WALL-E representation at the parks. It's one of my favorite movies of all time.

I have never seen the movie, we have it but I fell asleep the one time we watched it. I head it wasn't a good movie so I never bothered to rewatch it. But now how a lot of you say it's a great movie, I'm excited to watch it. Maybe this week.

I just registered, just to post in this topic. 2 years ago I went with my family to WDW, my then 4 year old son was a BIG Wall-E fan. We were sitting in the Backlot Restaurant at Hollywood Studios. All of sudden my son said, "There's Wall-E." Looking around we couldn't figure out what he was talking about. Finally he got out of his chair and pointed to the carpet. The carpet had shapes VERY similar to Wall-E's eyepiece in the carpet. Two of the people working there heard him and were like "wow, we have been working here for awhile and never saw that before, he found a hidden Wall-E."

Of course it was totally unintentional on Disney's part but it made his day.
