I love this board, I love SSR, I love all things Disney. Dave and 3B are righting things, that our mean. They our saying SSR isn't as good as the other DVC's. Dave even owns SSR, what am wrong with him? He don't seam smart.

3B is a goodly guy, butt Dave has pulled him into his power.

Please ban Dave, and put 3b on probation.

Dave, Normally I don't get involved, pretty tame by nature but from the onset of your posts concerning SSR I had to.

From my perspective you have on several occasions belittled and questioned through sarcasm the thought process and intelligence of new DVC owners purchases at SSR.

Its just hard to see someone who is really excited about a major purchase to be poo-pooed (sorry for the course language ) on by some of your responses. They are happy, let them be happy if only for just a little while until you start on them.

dave and I have both said ssr owners are the smart ones.

buy 50 years at ssr, and stay at the bcv and the bwv for 38 years, and then ssr for 12.

I've had posts removed for much less than you and susanwashere have posted. Please show me where I'm bashing SSR? The part about the pm's is true because I am now on the verge of being thrown off these boards. Complaining to the board monitors because I post a thread about SSR? Please, maybe if I see my bashes, I'll know the error of my ways. My SSR critical eye thread was not bashing. Most of it was fact. I've posted some things that warranted being removed but certainly nothing I've posted about SSR warrants that. Have you really been threatened to be thrown off?

I promise you guys this... When B3 and I are thrown off the boards these boards will not be a better place for it. What is wrong with trying to lighten up the place a little. The info. is great but it can be so dry. I'm not a mean spirited basher like you guys say. I never said that!

I love these boards and to be thrown off for a little sarcasim and honesty is really sad. I just don't get it. Also I get as many pm's saying how much they enjoy my work. I can be a little sacastic, myself!If I'm gone I'm sure you guys will feel good knowng you had a hand in it. No, because I don't want you to go. You and B3 keep things going, even though I don't agree with you on some issues!

her goal is to drive re-sale prices of ssr down, so she can nab one on the cheap.

I also suspect her numbers are bogus.

I agree with Tinky. I'm not even a DVC owner, so I'm impartial.

Although I admit to laughing at some of B3's posts (especially about the "git 'er done" family), all these SSR bashing posts are getting tiresome and even leaning towards bully-ish. I feel bad for any new SSR owner who is just visiting this board. BTW, I applaud Susanwashere's post.

I hope that if I become a DVC owner, I don't become as self righteous as some around here.

Another thought... What percentage of DVC owners does the DIS represent? Have we taken into consideration that new owners, SSR owners, who have just purchased are not fairly represented. That would certainly skew the numbers on polls, etc... These folks bought at SSR for a reason, correct? And I sincerely doubt that the mass majority purchased just to go to SAB, order room service and have their cars gently parked by valet.

Is it more than possible that these new owners have not yet discovered the magic, the joy and the fellowship that we call The Dis?

Good point. We bought at SSR two years ago, but I just discovered the DIS a couple months ago. Feels like a mixed blessing these days.

Umm....okay. Actually, I didn't mean that PinkTink63's comment "wasn't nice" (sorry to PinkTink if it seemed that way). I actually meant that it isn't nice for DVC to build resorts in a way that will leave the majority of the rooms to be available at ONE resort.

Sorry for the confusion....and, that you got so angry....umm, maybe you need a break from the boards...I know I get that way a lot!!

P.S. Since you quoted numbers from my poll....you seem really upset that I am doing that poll (and keeping those numbers). I just have to ask....are you upset that I am doing the poll, or are you upset by what the numbers are showing? I have made it a point to draw NO conclusions on that thread...it is just a thread that shows numbers. It was designed to be helpful to owners in determining how important or not important the 7 month window is for their particular resort...I think it has been both helpful, and interesting. Do you think I am lying in my numbers? Is that what has you upset, or do you not like what the numbers show, or do you just not like the fact I am doing the poll. I am totally serious in this question...I certainly did not mean to offend ANYONE with that poll. I actually thought it might give some "credibility" to both sides of the "never ending" debate on these boards. Please let me know what you think is wrong with it...I would love to hear it.

I think part of the problem for people who own SSR is that when we say we really like it, or post OUR vote in a poll that we intend in staying there most of the time, we are called liars. We are told that we pretty much don't know what we are talking about because HOW could we want to stay there? It is "sub-par" and obviously we are trash because we think that it is nice. That is what is frustrating. It seems like everytime someone says they like SSR, someone is right there to bash them. I was once told by "a trouble maker" to stick to the glowing reviews of SSR if I did not like the bashing. Well, the trouble makers seemed to make themselves at home on those as well! There is NO PLACE on here for people who LIKE SSR to go without someone being sarcastic and making rude comments to them about it. That to me is the most frustrating thing.

I've been spending a lot of time here recently, researching a purchase this year so my "opinion" may not mean as much as the regulars here and those that already own. If you're just joking, doing some lighthearted ribbing, it's not coming off that way as there is no way for people who are the butt of the joke to tell. You lose a lot of meaning when you lose the nonverbal cues. I'm not even an SSR owner (one of the options I'm looking into - debating buying that or buying resale) and even I'm offended at times by the "jokes" that insinuate that the people at SSR are these white trash rednecks loading their entire extended family into the room tossing their empties into the pool ust before passing out while the kids run around. It's like asking someone from the south if they're inbred - might be funny to you but probably not the person who constantly has those "jokes" tossed their way.

It gets so repetitive too. I've only been hanging out, mostly lurking, for a month or so while researching and the comments, complaints, and "jokes" about SSR are the same handfull over and over and over. It's like "It's a Small World" - doesn't take long before it gets old, LOL. It's hard to find the humor in something that's been repeated over and over and includes taking potshots at other board members.

If you're truly just joking and don't mean to offend people. . you might want to make sure that's clear, because the way it's going now it's just coming off as abrasive and elitest.

That was what I was thinking. The belittling and sarcastic comments about how SSR owners are thrilled to be at a "sub par", "moderate at best" resort (neither of which are true) are not necessary. The poor newbies have come from their first visit home, write about the wonderful time they had on vacation, and they are made to feel like they have done something wrong.

And while I agree with the fact that posting on a board that is all sickening sweet is not what Dis is all about, taking it too far by hijacking thread after thread with the same drivel is old and tiresome. Your point has been made, taken and overused. There are things about other resorts that bother me but I don't harp on them week after week, month after month, like you do! And it has only gotten worse and more frequent lately with your new partner in crime.

You have identfied what you think needs to be done to make "SSR better" so forward your concerns and suggestions to the DVC management. Continuing to bash and belittle SSR members on these boards will do nothing to make your case.

My belief is that if you really want to make members see where improvements may be needed, you should do more to enlighten than bash. People are becoming angry and defensive instead of seeing your "points". Remember, you get more with honey than you do with vinegar!
