Why no SSR love?

You both want stats.

I don't want stats. I was being sarcastic. it was implied that peoples thoughts and opinions do not matter. i found that condescending and insulting. Rather ironic coming from a poster who created a thread asking why people where being insulting......

I didn't say opinions don't matter. You use your opiions as if they are fact.
There is a difference.

I'm sitting here fluctuating between outrage and outright laughter.....

choose laughter

BBB, how dare you insinuate that SSR is in an undesirable location!

Why didn't disney build there 5 years ago?

everyone does NOT need MK or Epcot in their backyard

those that do, and have bought so they can have that, would like to be able to do so

....some of us actually love what DTD has to offer and for your information,

cool

my presentation ( and purchase) was based on SSR and what IT had to offer...not your beloved BWV ( so sorry, not looking to insult anyone)...

I have set thru the SSR presentaion

it is very easy to sit back and get caught up in this sometime "heated" debate but some of you are worse than my 8 year old cubscouts! seriously!!

Who is heated? It's a message board........ nothing more.

I am a PROUD SSR owner and if I so desire to try the other ON-SITE properties at 7 months, well then, that's my option, isn't it?!

ummmmmmmmm yes, that is the way it works.

I loved SSR because one of the selling points was I could leave it to my children - those extra 12 years will benefit them and that's a top priority in my book...

So you didn't buy it based on SSR and it's location?

now I'm going back to work ...so I can pay for my share of the "magic"

take care......

I wouldn't trust the results of a new poll.

The SSR folks are liars.

They will say they are going to stay at SSR, but they will be staying at BCV.

The last time I stayed at BCV there were 3 familes with SSR decals on their lugage. They made noise all night and belched at breakfast.......
Please tell me this post is a joke. That really points excatly to what the OP was talking about in the opening post.

Not entirely - but I'm willing bet if one could ever get access to DVC ressie records and do the analysis, you'd see the number of non-owners seeking villas at BWV and BCV in a given year is much, much higher than at any of the other DVC resorts.

nope.......

I watched them unload. They were driving an older mini van with stickers on the bumper. Their lugage didn't even match. The one kid smiled at me, it was obvious she needed braces.

I over heard the mother talking on her cell phone (an older non pda model), she was telling who ever she was talking to, all about how great DVC was. He husband ripped the phone from her. I suspect he needed to call his bookie. They had SSR mugs from last year and were filling at the BCV.

LOL...You have to be kidding me! Again, you show your disrespect towards SSR members. Funniest thing you have post so far.
Maybe those members actually owned at both resorts, did you ask? I can't believe you let them check in, did you call member services?
At least this post got a laugh out of me.

I will agree with Dave that a sit down restauant at SSR would be a nice addition and I do believe they will add one. I agree that pool side dining could be improved. That said I can think of several things I would do to improve all the DVC resorts.

I will say that the intensity of this thread has suprised me. Either I am reading some of these post in the wrong context or some of you take this way too seriously and some are being borderline or outright rude.

That said if you truly believe half of what some of you have posted I would not want you staying at SSR and being my neighbor. :sad2: I will take some of these "so called" second class SSR citizens over that anyday.

Being close to a park is great for some. I feel it is highly overrated. I don't enjoy walking to Epcot in the heat and thunder storms that frequent WDW when we can visit. At other times of the year maybe that walk is more enjoyable. As long as transportation is provided I could care less about where the Disney resort is located and more about the amenties of the resort itself. I love having a Spa within walking distance to my room. :thumbsup2

We like OKW for many reasons and one being the ability to remove one's self from the park atmosphere.

I will say there is never a dull moment around here. From this thread to the one on the Dining forum from the person renting points and asking about unethical use of the Dining plan, there is some interesting reading.

Because I bought BWV so i could take a 10 min walk to epcot for dinner at any one of the many many choices.

Disney has or will sell enough DVC contracts to SSR, that when THOSE OWNERS book stays at BCV and BWV, the chances of me being able to be a week long stay at 4-5 mths out are slim.

People IMO who own, SSR are looking forward to staying at BCV and BWV, much more then owners of BWV and BCV are looking forward to staying at SSR.

Please keep in mind, my beef is with Disney, not a SSR owner.

I would have bought BWV if i knew I could never stay any where else. Would a SSR owner have bought SSR if they knew they could never stay anywhere other then SSR? Doubtful IMO....

Once again, my beef is with Disney, not the SSR owner.

How much of the SSR sales presentation is showing the buyer how they can stay at other places? The sales presentation at BWV spent 5 min tops showing how you could stay other places. BWV sold it's self based on it's self.

The people who will REALLY be left holding the bag are the HH and Vero beach owners.

If you own at any of the Orlando resorts, you will in most cases be able to get in somewhere and have a vacation with WDW magic. The people who own HH and Vero want to stay at HH and Vero, that is a far cry from staying at a Orlando DVC.

Sorry but your "beef" with DVC makes no sense. You are talking about booking at 4-5 months out and there being no availability. You had a 4 month home booking advantage over non owners that you didn't take advantage of. Should we not book at 7 months just in case you want a short notice booking? :rotfl2: DVC didn't misrepresent the facts in any way, shape or form. I will continue to book other resorts at 7 months as spelled out in the contracts that we all signed. If you don't like it there is always the door. Your beef, is in fact with owners of other resorts, because DVC has done nothing to you. Sorry if this is harsh but you couldn't be more off with your thinking.

We're exhibit A of this - BWV is our home resort, and we learned long ago that to insure we get exactly what we want, we have to book day by day 11 months out. We've also stayed at HH in the summer and are staying at VB this summer. In both cases, I called up 7 months to the day and had no problem booking our first choice of villa category.

That makes no sense since non-owners can't book until 7 months out. You must be competing with other BWV owners. By the way BWV is my least favorite. Not that I would not stay there if others were booked up. It's still DVC and much better than anything nonDVC.

LOL! This thread is beginning to sound like something from the Godfather/Sopranos/Taxi. "You disrespecting me? You disrespecting ME?"

If members have a problem booking at 10 months out, the problem is not other resorts. Its from their own fellow home resort owners.

SSR mugs have a DVC logo on them, how would you know where they come from, I think you jest. :rotfl2:

Either way...I certainly admire your tenacity!!!

Thanks for taking the heat off of my posts. You really know how to stir the pot. :stir: Your hatred for SSR couldn't have been made clearer from your posts. I own SSR and book elsewhere. I didn't buy in intending that would be the case, it just happened. I bought in before the resort opened. I had stayed at most of the other resorts and had full confidence in the program I was buying into. Really, there is a big difference in posting opinions and facts. Your posts really just rub me the wrong way. Nobody is doing anything wrong by booking other resorts at 7 months. Also, SSR are not a lower class of owner as you insinuate and no SSR is not off site. It is not my favorite resort but it is still an on site DVC option and a great one to many. Maybe we will see eye to eye down the road but certainly not on this.

p.s I'm coming for your resort at 7 months. :thumbsup2

This last post sums it all up for you B3! If we were in court, I would probably say "The Defense Rests, Your Honor" after that statement!
