Why no MK on Saturday?

Does anyone know what not to do MK on Saturday. I thought Saturday was a travel day for alot of people. Is there really a right day for the MK

I think the reason to avoid Mk on SAt. has to do with locals being off work. Also many people come down just for the week-end and hit parks Sat. & Sun. We have done well at Mk on Sunday mornings. We, however, always travel off season so no time is too bad for us.

it definatly has to do with the locals.. they go to mk for the day like we may go to six flags or something near us

My husband scheduled us for MK last Saturday b/c of the Unofficial Guide's recommendation and, when I asked people here about it, everyone said "NO! Don't go on Saturday!" I expected it to be horrible but it was, in fact, much lighter than it was the previous Monday. It did get more crowded as the day went on, as per usual, but it was still better than I expected it to be. We were there at opening and got to run on and off Splash and Thunder Mountains for the first hour they were open (we were taking turns strolling the baby); at 3pm (parade time) I walked right onto Pirates and the CM said "just sit anywhere!" So, I don't think Saturdays are as bad as we thought. I used to be a local (see sig) and we sure went on Saturdays, but maybe the idea that people are travelling is correct?

I've been wondering about this also, as DH wants to do MK on our arrival day (saturday).

We will go to MK on Sat. also. DS7 and DD5 are super excited and I would probably not hear the end of it if we did not go there first. It is what they associate Disney to be (if that makes sense), and I don't want to disappoint them on their first trip!!!!
No matter how crowded - we are going to be all smiles :flower:
However, we will probably go back on during the week anyway to hit what we missed!

Sometimes Saturday is one of the few days they show Spectormagic as we go in the off season. Therefore we have to spend at least part of our day there to be able to see that.

All of the above reasons are correct.

1) Often the only time Spectro runs
2) Locals
3) Other Florida Residents on weekend trips spend a whole day Saturday at MK and a half day Sunday at another park

There may be times that Saturday is lighter than another day, especially when the EMH days fall on either side of it. But, generally, Saturday is a crowded day at MK.

We go on Saturdays in the summer, the Unofficial Guide recommends it because Saturday is a big travel day, and a lot of locals don't go to the parks in the summer. I think if they have seasonal passes their passes are blacked out in the summer.

Hi folks,

I believe the Unofficial Guide's latest "Best Days" recommendations explores the whole "locals" phenomenon in more detail, as well as the "Saturday versus Sunday" debate. It was posted to the web on Wednesday, and may help clarify what goes into our decision process.

Sincerely,

Len
