We just got back from WDW this evening & I have to ask this dumb question. Why aren't there fitted sheets on the beds? It is so annoying during the night when the bottom sheets comes off the bed. Anyone know?

Simple....flat sheets are cheaper and since they don't have as much stitching, they are more durable and last longer. For the record, I hate it too. Mickey

I thought all hotels did that these days. Also think about the fact they never have to worry about matching the top & bottom. They just take the top two sheets from the pile & put them on.

I have bought overstock fitted sheets (both King & Queen) which I pack for all of our stays.

It's not worth it to have to completely make the bed every day!

I mean, I have parks to visit, PS's to compete, photo ops w/ characters, Buzz to ride, see PUSH the trash can, etc

Why do you have to make the beds anyway? Doesn't the maid make your bed? Also if you put on one of your own sheets doesn't the maid come in and take them when putting clean ones on?

I haven't had a problem with the sheets coming off the bed at night--although my son does--he moves around a lot at night.

The sheets are not changed on the beds every day, only every 3-4 days. The if you bring your own from home it's pretty easy to tell it isn't the hotels. I always bring my own pillow, and put a brightly colored case on it so there can't be any confusion.

The reason they do not have fitted sheets.....they don't want quest short sheeting the bed as a prank, to someone in there party. :jester:

I read on the very large Pop Century thread that they will have fitted bed sheets!! that is one of the things that is making it hard to decide where to stay. My son would love ASMovies but I would love those fitted sheets at PC.

I didn't have any problems with the sheets at the Dolphin coming off, and my whole family sleeps kind of restless. And I thought you could short sheet a bed with flat sheets. Of course, it's been a while;)

Maybe wuv tigger is a DVC member. DVC resorts don't have daily housekeeping. We've got to make our own beds!

Although, I don't seem to recall ever having a problem with the sheets coming off the bed...and I'm a restless sleeper.

OIC. Just one more reason I will never buy into DVC! LOL! Although by Wuv Tigger's siggy she has never stayed onsite yet but will be doing so in 43 days. So I think DVC is out. :D

We hated this at POR. One bed ALWAYS had the sheets pulled out. I was wondering the same thing. I also bring my own pillow, but never thought to bring my own sheet, too.

The require a special type of laundry service, more cost and more time.

What about the fact that fitted sheets are easier to replace and thus take less time for mousekeepers to clean rooms, make beds, etc. I would think fitted sheets take much longer, thus more cost.

A perk for PC. They are going to have fitted sheets!!!! YAY!:wave2:

It doesn't take THAT long to put a fitted sheet on a bed. I can understand their not having fitted sheets b/c they may be more expensive to make (stitching, elastic), but I don't buy that it takes LONGER for the housekeepers to put them on.

:wave2:

My guess to the reasoning is beacuase they can use the same type of sheet for top and bottom. So to make 20 beds you just need 40 sheets not make sure you have 20 of each.
