There's one at DL and TDL, why not a Club 33 at WDW? It's really disappointing to me! Maybe there is one, or something like it, and I just don't know about it. I know there are some nice restaurants at WDW, but nothing comes close to being as exclusive. Does anyone know if there have ever been any plans/rumours about a Club 33 at WDW? Has anyone on the boards ever been to Club 33?

I found out about Club 33 not to long ago, I'm embarassed to say. I'm totally obsessed, and hope I have the money someday to join or at least have some connections to get in. Is anyone else obsessed over it?

My initial thought was that Walt had used the apartment at DL whereas he had passed away before using anything at WDW. Therefore it wouldn't be the "same:. Does that make sense? But then you put the TDL in there and my theory doesn't hold much water, does it? :D

We have been several times. Most recently Christmas week. It really is a fun experience. Even the kids list it as one of their favorite things at Disneyland.

I'd be curious to know how many individual memberships there are anymore. I know lots of businesses have corporate memberships. That's how we have always been able to go.

Every now and then you'll see a "Club 33 experience' package on e-bay.

Walt's apartment at DL has no connection to Club 33. He had a small apartment over the Fire Station that he actually used. There was another apartment under construction in New Orleans Sq that he planned to use for his family and entertaining guests. It now houses the Disney Gallery. Club 33 was built because Walt wanted a place to entertain business associates and friends in an adult atmosphere. Since none of these things were needed after Walt's death, there was no reason to build them in WDW (although the original plans for Cinderella Castle included a small apartment for the Disney family).

During our last visit to DL, we took the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour (which I highly recommend). We were able to step inside Club 33 (only the foyer) and also got a complete tour of the Disney Gallery next door where the apartment was to be. They walked us through each room, explaining what they would have been used for. We then had a nice lunch on the apartment terrace.
