We went to Disneyland Sept. 10 - 14 and although it wasn't scorching hot it was around mid- 80's, maybe a little more some days. We noticed the monorail isn't air conditioned. At one point it was a bit uncomfortable sitting on the tomorrowland platform, but when it got going there was a breeze.
However, we asked to sit in the very back one day and was nice and cool. The other people in the car with us were S. CA residents and said the front and back compartments are always air conditioned but the main areas NEVER are. Is this true? We found that a bit strange since the ones in Florida are always climate controlled. After WDW, this was a new experience to have the windows open.
Is this a cost cutting decision? Do they ever turn on the A/C - maybe if it's above a certain temperature outside? Don't they worry some inconsiderate people would throw things out the window? Usually disney controls everything very carefully. Just curious about this.
