Why, My Little Guppy Has Groupies! - A Dec. 2013 TR *Completed

Alicia... this is one of the absolute best updates I've read. My God this was so good, you should be proud. And to think you weren't even there. It's a darn good thing you speak gibberish is all I can say. Just awesome!

"Mom was right, Dad shops too much." :rotfl2: Well, he knows his dad.

I love Landon's update!! :lmao: Sounds about right, from a baby's perspective. :thumbsup2 Nice that you were able to have some time to rest while the father/son bonding was going on. Looks like they saw some good sights. That splash pad looks fun!

I LOVE Landon's update!!! It's so cute! Looks like he and his dad had some fun while you napped. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

"Mom was right, Dad shops too much." <--- this had me literally laughing out loud. At work. :lmao:

SO cute!!!!!!! I love this picture!

Loved this update. You did such a great job telling the story from Landon's perspective. So cute!

I love all the pictures from AoA. It's such an adorable resort!

I know I missed your last update. I am so far behind on the DIS!

When AK opened, I was already too old to enjoy the Boneyard, which was really depressing to me at the time. Because really, I'm still like a kid.

I'm sad whenever Dinosaur is closed too. It's still one of my favorites.

I think the smiles fade in our pictures too because our travel companions get tired of the fact that we stick cameras in their faces all of the time. :rotfl2:

We loved meeting Russell and Dug last time! I hadn't met them before, so it was a big first for me. Landon looks too cute with them.

I'm gonna say the strangers staring and smiling at your kid would be the highlight. It would be for me.

Okay, the pictures in Landon's update and his face in a lot of them are just awesome. He looks so happy!

Mom was right, Dad shops too much. I could totally say this about my brother. :lmao:

Ok. This will most likely be a long one because I have fallen WAY behind. But I have some time and I hope I can catch up.

"Agreed. We have to plan early enough to eat at ALL the places we want to try. It would be a perfect trip. Maybe I need to start a PTR so we can collaborate while you're gone."

Sounds like a good idea to me.

"But hopefully (*hint hint, Alex*) that won't ever happen again."

There was two of us you could have waited too

"But Alex was squinting…."

I actually really like that picture.

"I can only hope in twenty years, Landon’ll be wheeling his grandma around the Magic Kingdom while she thinks back to that night where she tossed him up in the air and caught him, listening to his adorable little baby giggles."

I'm sure your mom is hoping not to be in a wheelchair in 20 years.

"First of all, I applaud Alex for keeping his cool when he was run over while standing in the street and trying to push the stroller. However, I'm a little disappointed that the stroller didn't become a weapon at that point."

Andy I was really really tempted but I knew Alicia would have gotten upset had I done that.

"And, of course, I had to get a picture to memorialize the moment:"

It was indeed awesome to meet a fellow DISer thanks for introducing your self.

"You can never have too many EPCOT shirts."

It is very nice to have someone on my side for once.

Ok almost there on the last page.... there are at least 2 updates on this one but almost there.

So I just read the one from Landon's POV and I felt like a crazy person sitting in the common area laughing at it.... I do have to say I think Landon pretty much nailed it better than I could have.

OK all caught up..... at least till you post another one.

OK caught up on your previous update.

CUTE PP pictures of the three of you. All together now - AWWWWWWWW! :thumbsup2

Your poor mom - no dinosaur. Bummer!

Yup - there is definitely a day 6 slump when nothing is as fun as the first day. I know that feeling all too well.

Love the pics of Alex and Landon on the triceratops spin. So cute!

I've always LOVED your TR's, and it's obvious that Landon inherited your awesome story telling skills! The kid is talented! I was hanging on to every word! LOVED hearing things from his perspective!;)

Seriously, what a creative and fun angle to write from! Absolutely adorable. You know just what your audience loves!:thumbsup2

We actually have a trip planned for next month to celebrate our 15th anniversary, so I'm on the countdown anxiously awaiting it's arrival!

As far as runDisney events, I'm actually switching it up this year. I'm not doing the Princess, but I am registered for the half in January. After that, I hope for my next rD event to be Wine & Dine--just not sure when that may happen? What about you??

Great update, Landon! Thanks for telling us your side of the story.

How cruel of your parents to not give you your own ice cream bar. :sad2:

What a sweet update Alicia! Landon is definitely one of the cutest babies I have ever seen:) love the picture of you guys enjoying your Mickey bars too! How are you guys doing with the deployment?

I've spent the last week reading your report and I am enjoying it immensely! We were there this week in 2010 and yes it was really cold that year! Good crowds though. We are going again this year (it's my bday week) and you now have me terrified of the crowds! Especially for MVMCP on the 4th which is how we will be spending my actual birthday.

In any case I'm looking forward to the rest of your report. I feel like I was there with your family and I can't wait to find out how the rest of our trip went ;). I hope you do one for the trip that came after this. I can't wait to see how Landon is growing!

Also what kind of camera were you using?

Like the person above me, I just read your TR over the past week, and I love it! You guys seem like such a nice normal family with a super cute kiddo! The last update was priceless :goodvibes Hope for another update soon and curious to know how your May trip went too if you ever get to that one :thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

I just signed onto the boards and saw all my replies. You all are so nice, made my morning!

I'm actually in Disney this week. Waiting at the not-turnstiles-anymore turnstiles at Hollywood Studios! My birthday gift from my mother.
I will be back home this weekend to reply to everyone individually; I just didn't want you all thinking I'd abandoned this report and was ignoring your replies. I'm still around!

Awesome birthday gift!!! I hope you have a great time! Make sure to ride Rock n Rollercoaster for me. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Alicia! I was so excited when I saw your FB post!! What a surprise! Are you at POP?!!! Happy, Happy Birthday!!!

Going to squueze in a few replies really quickly before Landon wakes up from his nap. I never realized how much free time I had until Alex left! I hope you all forgive me for being so sporadic on the boards!

Oh wow. Thank you so much, Rob. That means a lot.:goodvibes
Honestly, I had a lot of fun writing the update. It was kind of nice to do something different for a change.

Thank you! And, yeah, I can imagine if Landon could talk that'd be close to his thought process. :rotfl2: Even now, he only speaks gibberish, but I just know sometimes he's telling me off in baby babble.:rotfl:

Thanks, Wendy! I'm glad it came off funny. I was at a loss at how to recap those pictures since I wasn't around, and I figured I'd have a little fun with the writing.

Thank you, Mary Ellen. :goodvibes I do love that picture, as well.

AoA is like a little kid's dream resort. Pretty much every one of my friends with toddlers has stayed there once. And now that I know Landon loves splash pads, I've already told Alex we'll have to book a family suite there in 2016. ::yes::

I feel like Dinosaur is the middle ground between everest and triceratops spin. Like, it's not a baby ride, but it's also not a coaster, so it's pretty accesible to a whole family. So when it goes down, it really puts a damper on AK touring. (For the average folk. Obviously us DISers can find other things to do. I, for one, am immensily happy that Dole Whips with rum have been added to the park. And that's pretty much where you can find me from now on.:rotfl:)

We really gotta start thinking about what we want to do in 2015. At least, we got to figure it out more than 6 months in advance if you want good ADRs. I still vote May. That way we have the cruise...well, you know when. And then we could get a second family trip. And hit up Universal. And watch lots of monorails. Lots.
Because apparently Landon is obsessed with them. :crazy2:

I still laugh out loud thinking about you sitting where you sit and reading that update. I can only imagine the looks you got. Had to be a sight.

OK caught up on your previous update.

Thanks. I was really pleased with how most of our group pictures turned out on this trip.

I am so grateful we went on Triceratops Spin, if only for those photographs. It's something that I can look back on while Alex is away.

Aw, thank you so much, Missy. It was a really fun update to write, and I'm glad it came across that way.:goodvibes

Oh, fun! Trying to hit up all the runDisney events? That's the way to do it. We have nothing planned as of right now, since we don't even know 100% when Alex will be back.

15th anniversary?! That's amazing. Congratulations. Really, that's awesome.

Great update, Landon! Thanks for telling us your side of the story.

How cruel of your parents to not give you your own ice cream bar. :sad2:

Thank you.

And . The idea of an 8 month old with his own ice cream made me scared there for a minute. :lmao: You should have seen what he did with a spoon full of frozen yogurt the other day.
It was everywhere! The lady behind the counter was GLARING at me.:rotfl2:

What a sweet update Alicia! Landon is definitely one of the cutest babies I have ever seen:) love the picture of you guys enjoying your Mickey bars too! How are you guys doing with the deployment?

Why thank you. :goodvibesIt was a lot of fun to write, and Landon learned quickly how to be a charmer.:rotfl:

The deployment is moving along slowly, but successfully. We're just keeping bust and hoping it starts to cool down soon. Landon loves the gulfarium and the zoo, so I'm sure we'll be frequent visitors there in the fall. Hope you and your family have a safe and fun Labor Day!
