Why do people seem to prefer Liberty Tree over Crystal palace for dinner on Halloween party nights?
I have eaten at the Crystal and found it to be ok. Do their characters not wear costume that night? Is that the difference? Or is the food better at the LTT

I think it's more for atmosphere than anything, at least that's the reason we booked it last year. When I think of Halloween, pumkpins, fall colors, etc, I feel the old colonial feel of LTT fits the bill more than CP. You can eat a meal there and just imagine the Headless Horseman riding by.

for one, CP doesn't serve during the party. only Tony's Town Square and LTT remain open for parties (unless something has changed)

but LTT characters and CMs are dressed for the party. it's the only dining location they do.

the food is good and it's served family style. it's not a bad place by any stretch of the imagination on any other night either.

I heard a rumor that minnie, characters and wait staff would be dressed up. We were there on 9-29 adn nobody was dressed up. It was a waste of time for us, it cut into the hallow time.

I am not doing a sit down meal this yearl

This is why we do CP (with free dining, last year and this) before MNSSHP (4-7pm) and typically it is timed to let us get out of dinner in time to grab a double stroller (for free!) and do a couple things prior to getting our spot for the parade.

We prefer LTT's during MNSSHP because of the atmosphere and the food fits in with the Halloween theming better than CP to us and we don't really like buffet style meals anyway. If I had to rate the characters, I'd say they are about the same.

i've seen reports that the characters were in costume for the party for dinner as early as 3:30 pm.

traditionally, party seating has began at 5:30 pm, which is more than enough time to eat prior to the party. i think last year i ate around 7:15 or so and i still made it out in plenty of time to catch the first parade.

As a first timer, i can't imagine paying for dinner during the Halloween party times. Cuts into the party time too much and at those ticket prices, I wouldn't want to do that.
W made ressies at CP before the party. LTT is booked solid our date 9/21 for dinner(except after the party opens)

It's a combination of things.

For some people it's that LTT can be booked when buying your tickets, even before 180 days. It's the atmosphere; more halloween-like. It's that the characters wear halloween eye masks or aprons (not really costumes). It's that mentaility of well, if everyone else is eating there, I should eat there too. It's that it's pre-plated and not a buffet, some prefer that. And I'm sure for some, they just like the food.

I've done LTT twice now before parties and when I was planning our last party's meal last year, I was going to book it again and my DDs said NO. They wanted to eat at either CP or Tony's instead. We LOVE CP. My girls didn't like the food at LTT. The atmosphere and characters weren't enough of a reason for them return to LTT again.

We prefer the food at all the other sit down restaurants over LTT's Stuoffers food.

LTT and Tony's can be booked when purchasing tickets. They both stay open till about 9:30p. Tony's waiters are sometimes made up to look like HM CMs and so are the LTT waiters.

CP, the Castle, and the Plaza are open till regular park closing, taking ADRs till about 6:30p.

Sorry you couldn't get anything before the party :guilty: . I made a 5:30pm ADR for dinner to make sure it wouldn't cut into party time.

i wonder if they're still separating the times for LTT and Tony's. in previous years, they only made normal ADRs available up until 5:30. for 5:30 and beyond, the CM would have to go to another area to see those additional ADR times and sometimes they didn't realize it.

LTT was my DH's only request for ADR's - We have a 5:45pm ADR for the Oct. 4th party :goodvibes
