Wowsers! I'm shocked to see so many welcomes! I figured I was long forgotten! But I guess I shouldn't be surprised, everyone here has always been so wonderful to me! I love you all! I've missed you!
So I guess I'll kick of the catching up by an update on life in general, hitting on the high points. As I can see, many of you are anxious to hear about my princess...so I won't keep you waiting....
So my New Years Resolution this year was to take charge of my life and start enjoying things more. As many of you know, my social life has left plenty to desire...I really wanted to get out and start dating. Love myself more. Have some fun and quit being such a workaholic stick in the mud. So I did. I was going out on dates about once a week, it seems all of my friends had friends that would be perfect for me....most of which turned out to be complete bombs. There was a complete jerk, a bitter teacher, a clueless cheerleader type, and a freshman that made me feel really old.
I tried to land a few dates on my own too, but mostly got shot down, as fat geeks aren't in high demand. I started to get disheartened. I was ready to swear off blind dates, when a good friend approached me out of the blue saying he had a perfect girl for me...so we set up a double date. A twist of fate turned the evening around when his date backed out and he called in another friend so as not to be a third wheel. Well my date turned out to be the freshman that made me feel old, but his friend Melissa, the backup date, was quite intriguing. I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw her. There was something special about her...she was funny, cute, smart and tht smile made me weak in the knees.
It took a few days, but eventually I worked up the nerves to ask her out and on Feb 17 we had our first date. We went to Applebee's for dessert after I got off from work, then to a local bar for a drink...we hit it off really well. We talked the whole time, getting to know each other and having a great time. We ended up shutting down the bar then sitting in my car at the applebee's just talking and listening to Franks Place on my XM radio until it started snowing at 4am...it was absolutely perfect! I was hooked.
The next week we went out 3 times and the next week 4. Eventually we were seeing each other almost every day, and we evnetually made it official and exclusive. As for details....she's cute as a button! She loves all things Disney

Loves movies. Loves to read (she was an English major, graduated this past Saturday). Very family oriented. Laid back. Sweet. Kind hearted. Open minded. Funny. And that smile...jeesh! She's outstanding!
We've grown quite close, become not just boyfriend/girlfriend, but good, close friends in the process. We spend our time watching movies, hanging out with friends, spending time with our families...both sides seemingly approve of the relationship too, which is important for both of us. I know its only been 3 months, but she certainly feels like
the one. We'll see how it works out, but we've talked about it. We both have very strong feelings for each other, but we also know that things have to play out. We'll see how things go...I'm sure I'll be seeking advice from my DISfriends as we go along. So be prepared to offer suggestions.
Sigh...so thats the big story as far as my Princess Melissa goes...I'll be back tomorrow, taking part in some converstations, some games, etc. We'll play catch up more then!
Cheers,
Jungle Josh
